National mapping agencies and cities definately have footpath information available if you are willing to pay for it. -- Lauri Hahne ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/talk -- Nick Black http://www.blacksworld.net ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/talk

[OSM-talk] Source of Nokia footpath maps?
Someone sent me this link with Nokia launching some old guff about handheld navigation on foot. http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7230686.stm Which lead me to wonder where the footpath information might be coming from, considering all we usually see from Navteq/Teleatlas is roads and branches of McDonalds. As far as I know the only decent footpath mapping in the UK (apart from the bits done in OSM ;-) is from Ordnance Survey. What about other countries? Anyone have further info, or perhaps a less vague article?
