[Talk-GB] Sur de Edimburgo ?
Noticed this when looking at OSM earlier, which I think is Spanish for South of Edinburgh - tagging mistake? Nick ___ Talk-GB mailing list Talk-GB@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-gb

Damn - meant to send to the list! -Forwarded by Nick Whitelegg/FT/Solent on 29/08/2012 10:34AM - To: Nick Whitelegg/FT/Solent@Southampton Solent University From: Nick Whitelegg/FT/Solent Date: 29/08/2012 10:06AM Subject: Re: [Talk-GB] Sur de Edimburgo ? To follow up, I've changed the name tag to name:es. Please feel free to change back if I've misunderstood and there's some reason why the area should have a Spanish name by default... -Nick Whitelegg nick.whitel...@solent.ac.uk wrote: - To: talk-gb@openstreetmap.org From: Nick Whitelegg nick.whitel...@solent.ac.uk Date: 29/08/2012 10:00AM Subject: [Talk-GB] Sur de Edimburgo ? [Talk-GB] An alternative rendering of cycle routes in Britain....
I've produced an alternative rendering of cycle networks in Britain: http://www.transportparadise.co.uk/DualCycleNetworkMap/ This is in the style of the Oxford Cycle Map. It was produced using Geofabrik / osmosis (to cut it into z8 chunks) / Maperitive. The main cartographical feature is the simplification of lcn/ncn into a couple of shades of blue, with red used to highlight urban main roads and show the extent to which they have been adapted (or not). Main roads are highlighted if they have speed limits of 30/20, or if they have cycle lanes and no maxspeed tag. If anyone cares to add maxspeed data to urban main roads, or other main roads with cycle lanes, that'd be much appreciated. Re: [Talk-GB] Sur de Edimburgo ?
Probably corresponds to what's shown as 'South Side' on recent OS maps? http://magic.defra.gov.uk/website/magic/opener.htm?startTopic=maggbxygridref=325848,672919startScale=4000 Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southside,_Edinburgh#Southside Steve On 29/08/2012 09:59, Nick Whitelegg wrote: Noticed this when looking at OSM earlier, which I think is Spanish for "South of Edinburgh" - tagging mistake? ___ Talk-GB mailing list Talk-GB@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-gb
[Talk-GB] ITO - OSM Analysis updated with latest OS Locator data
Hi, A little update on OSM Analysis, ITO's OSM to OS Locator comparison service. We have just updated to the latest OS Locator data in OSM Analysis. Hopefully the next update to the OS Locator data will be updated a bit quicker. The biggest drop in completeness has been Leeds with 44 new streets missing. OSM Analysis is available at: http://www.itoworld.com/product/data/osm_analysis/main We have recently been releasing some new ITO Map layers, and improving some of the current map layers. We now have nodes for Great Britain for some of the maps. For example Bicycle parking: http://www.itoworld.com/map/223 ATMs: http://www.itoworld.com/map/230 Building entrances: http://www.itoworld.com/map/221 We are updating the nodes daily, and working on going to Europe and then Worldwide soon. http://www.itoworld.com/map/ If you have any comments, questions or ideas for ITO Map, please let me know.
