The ESRI layers listed on leaflet-providers are from a different host,

Hi.

Can anyone assist with a query for a new user.

I want to allow limited access for a set of roads. It is a private estate with
permission access for certain users but not general access for all but it does
require navigation permission so it will allow a navigation app ability to plot
a route and Ellie access. There is paid entry or free entry based upon your
status but I don’t know how to tag the access -can you advise?

Kind regards

Re: [Talk-GB] Closed software supplier ESRI creates OSM vector tile basemap

2018-07-10 Thread Dan S
Great. No problem here with commercial suppliers rehosting osm data as
long as there's clear attribution and licensing, which there is. This
could be useful for many "read-only" users and potentially relieve
some load on the main osm tileserver since it could fulfil various of
their needs.

For my taste, they should probably be clearer in the naming. Instead
of name it as "OpenStreetMap", it would be better to say this is
"OpenStreetMap carto vector rendering", or something less clunky but
not just osm. Else there's a risk of some users believing that what
they get there is the only form in which osm data can be expressed.

Best
Dan

Yes, every few weeks is more than fast enough for most uses. osm.org is
different because it's part of the feedback cycle, so minutely updates

Re: [Talk-GB] MapThePaths update: live edit of designation and prow_ref

2018-07-10 Thread Nick Whitelegg

Hi, the Chrome issue now seems to be fixed.

Technical info if you're interested: the fetch() API for sending AJAX requests
does not send the session cookie by default in Chrome unless the 'credentials'
option is set to 'include'.

See:

https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2015/03/introduction-to-fetch

If you want to try editing with Chrome, please use Ctrl+F5 to force a reload of
the cache.

OK, sorry.. there appears to be an issue with Chrome. Not got time to
investigate right now, but will reply when I've found the problem.

Just tested, I can edit in Firefox but getting the error in Chrome.

I am getting "your editing session has timed out, please log in again." despite
having logged in less than a minute earlier.
Chrome if it is relevant

Thanks

I'll modify the code when I have a moment so that if it gives a 401 it comes up
with a more friendly message to tell the user they need to log back in.

I have changed the code slightly to reduce the risk of caching old versions of
the JavsScript.

Still having issues.

I was getting the correct message box but now I just get "OpenStreetMap
returned an error: code 401".

BTW: I am adding designation but no prow_ref. For now I will continue with JOSM.

Hello Rob,

To add to Martin's comment, try using Ctrl+F5 on MapThePaths itself as you

When you add a designation and/or prow_ref, an alert box reading 'Way NNN
successfully updated in OSM' should appear. Does this appear?

The way you mentioned doesn't seem to have any edits even after refreshing.

One update today BTW - formerly each edit had a separate changeset, which
wasn't ideal. Now multiple edits in one session are grouped into a single
changeset.

Let me know if you're still having problems; let me know what edits you're

How long does it take for the edits to go through to OSM? I expected it to be
live but this doesn't seem to be the case.
