Dear Roelof, -- Samstag, 11. Oktober 2008, 07:51:48: JF when trying to subscribe to TB-Tech You don't have to try. TBTech died, due to lack of flow. There's no such list anymore or like the server said, no such user. Sorry for hijacking this thread. There is an other ML where I'm wondering if it is still alive. Disaster: I cannot see my email folders
After trying to install The Bat on a replacement hard disk, I have lost the ability to see my old email folders. My previous installation was running with the most recent beta. Before changing the hard disk I made a rar backup copy of my email accounts folders. After I installed The Bat on the new hard disk, I used the msi version 4.0.28 to make a basic installation, before replacing the exe file with the beta version. However, this resulted in my not being able to see any old messages, because of the known incompatibility of the new beta with the older version. No matter what I tried so far, I have not been able to properly install The Bat so as (a) to see my old messages and (b) to use the new beta. It's possible for me to access the old Bat directory in my backup, but not also the relevant registry, if this would help at all. I would appreciate having any step by step instructions on how to get out of this mess that I created. -- Many thanks, Costas Current beta is 4.0.34.15 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

The old Settings will appear. If your Mails were outside the Account, i have no answer right now. I'm aware of the change in the message base. Everything was working fine with the new message base before I had to change the hard disk. Unfortunately my hard disk had to be replaced, hence I had to reinstall The Bat using an older version. This meant that my message base was according to the new version, but the application (Bat) was older. Another complication is that I have more than one account and the location of the messages is in a different directory than the one I had before. At present I have my message database stored in a rar file hoping to find a way to recover it, the older Bat msi file that I used to reinstall The Bat and the new beta exe. I'm sure there must be a solution, I just don't see it. :( -- Best regards, Costasmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Current beta is 4.0.34.15 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I don't use OTFE and therefore I don't have those types of files. Also searching the registry did not bring up that key.
