Hello Bob,

Is there a site where I can find how to start a Unix mailbox (.mbx,

All you need to do is to select one or more messages on your message

And I'm trying to use HTML reply templates and QTs and they don't seem to work as I expected. Can't say if bug or WAD yet.

2. The purpose of this reply was to ask you whether you created this with the jumping links within TB!. I wouldn't know how to start doing this.

Yes, of course I did. All you need to do is define 'link names' and then link to them.

 I
don't remember a situation when the items on the task bar differed from the

 But there
was only one icon from the open dialog and that confused me.

I think, TB! does not show standard behavior here, but I agree, this is
 actually
not a big thing (that's why it is set as 'minor' in BT...).

TB! uses the standard behaviour because the Properties dialog it's a
modal dialog. Modal dialogs disable the others windows of the same

Hi NetVicious,

Ok, so the problem it's the bigger font you have configured on
Windows. As MAU said you need bigger icons.

Yes. The configuration in Vista is already bigger, but can't be bigger, because
lots of my other applications aren't complete on the screen anymore.
That's one of the reasons, Istrongly prefer programs which have the option to
change the iconsize to one's wishes.

I don't know if editing the xml of the icons you could scalate them.

I'm afraid I have to give that a try. Downloaded it and will give it a try.

Thanks for your usefull replies!

I translated all the strings of TB! so I know some really hidden

That certainly gives you some advantage :)

And now that you mention 'hidden options', although it is not too hidden
I think the option we are talking about would seem more logical if it
was placed next to the drop down list where you can select Menu or

Please test the 4.1 release MSIs which we are going to release on
 Tuesday.

Installed (only Core) and running.

Two little issues:

1.- My 'Add or Remove programs' in Control Panel shows two (2) entries for
TB v4.1. I am not sure now if there was only one before this last
installation, or not. I should have verified.

Aside of that, there is a little difference between the two entries as
you can see in attached PNGs. The first one shows 'used occasionally'
and the date of last time used, and the second one shows as 'hardly
ever' used and no date.

2.- I always do a Custom installation to only install Core and no
multilingual interface nor dictionaries. As I can recall from the 'n'
last installations, when I select Custom, the Multilingual Interface and
Dictionaries were always Xed (unselected for installation). No big deal
but this time I had to X them.

Can anybody else reproduce it? I have tried to install 4.1 from

I updated from the recent version under Vista and I have only 1 entrance.

 http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/intpack_4-1-3.msi

I removed [thebat_home_4-1-rc1.msi] version completely (retaining the
mail files and settings, when I uninstalled it) so as to get a good,
clean install, in the newest one (home version).

All is up and running well at this time. I even checked the run TB
icon in the installation screen at the end, since sometimes TB would
crash in the past after doing that. But all was well in the immediate
start at the end of installation process, also.

You at Rit Labs are to be congratulated!

Unlike some others here, I have only one .exe for TB running in Task
Manager. Even the icon in the task bar with flapping wings doesn't
show in Task Manager, so all seems ok for my uses (I don't use many of
the advanced features that some of you use, including the one for
brewing a cup of coffee at 5 AM through one's wireless network to the
coffee machine). Perhaps Starbucks will be contacting Rit Labs about
that one!

confirmed, I have 4.1 twice here too now.
This is a trouble when you have installed RC1 and then the 4.1 final,

Yes, versions 4.1.1.0 and 4.1.3.0 as you can see in attached PNG.

I will not update the MSIs to fix this trouble, but in future this

Do you think it is safe to use this Windows Install Cleanup utility to

maybe still true with the current beta. Kindly check.

And I'm trying to use HTML reply templates and QTs and they don't seem to work
as I expected. Can't say if bug or WAD yet.

My MSI installer won't work at the moment. I won't use betas at the moment,
until I have fixed that.

2. The purpose of this reply was to ask you whether you created this with the
jumping links within TB!. I wouldn't know how to start doing this.

Yes, of course I did. All you need to do is define 'link names' and then link
to them.

I will ask you more about it on TBUDL when I'm ready to play with it.

I locked up when I clicked launch and closed the install window. I had
thebat and thebat splash both 'not responding' in the task manager. I
tried to end task on thebat first, to no avail. Only by end task on
the splash did it close down.

It seem to be running fine now.

MM I see that Win2K is quite popular in TBBETA. BTW, who did try it
MM under Windows NT 4.0? We've done some fixes recently to work under NT 4.0.

I'd love to test it under WinNT, I even have an installation disc for
NT 4.0. But, alas, I neither have another spare computer nor the time
to test it. So, Win2k is the oldest system I can offer (it's on my old
Dell notebook, and I believe it will stay there for the notebook's
lifetime... ;)). The Bat! runs well over there too. :)

Poorly i updated AVG (from 18.12.2008) at the same time, there for i do

Let me see if I understand you correctly: You have a %TO= macro in a
folder template and a %TO= macro in the AB template.

If so, TB! works as designed. The %TO marco adds an address to the TO
field. If there is one address already, that one will stay. If you
want to clear the TO field first, use %TO= first.

Better yet, don't use folder templates so that you don't send messages
to the list by mistake. We have seen some private messages on the TB!
lists because people had sent them while the TB! folder was active.
Quite funny, though.
