If that is true, this suggests that the problem may lay with Gmail's
implementation of IMAP (or, possibly, with my IMAP settings in TB,
although I have tried to follow Stefan Tanurkov's guidance on those).

Do us all a favor and stop feeding the trolls.

No matter whether Gmail's IMAP implementation is standard or not, The

times by many users, on various server types.

Shift + Ctrl + Arrow right or Shift + Ctrl + Arrow left don't work as expected in message preview.

2009-02-08 Thread mse
Hello all,

When writing a new mail in MicroEd you can quickly select more than one word by
pressing Shift + Ctrl + Arrow right or Shift + Ctrl + Arrow left.
The spaces between words are automatically selected along with the previous
word. This is the way it is expected to be.

But when you want to copy some text displayed in message preview window like
that, the spaces between words are not selected along with the previous word.
To
select three words, you have to press this combination six times as every space
is selected seperately.
When you open a message you received before it's the same.

Any confirmations or other opinions?

2009-02-08 Thread Alto Speckhardt
Guten Morgen,

BR Now that my message base is in the new (version 4.0 on) format, I don't
BR think I can go back to an older version of TB.

You could always try to copy the local mails to an IMAP folder in the
current version, then retrieve them again (thereby creating a brand
new messagebase) in an older version. Although with exactly the
component you need to do this, IMAP, not working correctly, I agree
that this might be just a little bit tedious... ;-)

But didn't someone report a few weeks ago that the final v4.0-version
supported a graceful downgrade of the messagebase? Can someone
confirm or negate that?

BR However, I also think RitLabs is doing their best to really
BR redesign their IMAP module for TB, and I admire their
BR perseverance.

Eventually. And so far, we still haven't seen anything of it.

Actually what I admire is the perseverance of the users that are
putting up with this tragedy for the past four years. Yes, I just took
a look at v3.0.1.33's executable date: It shows the 12.10.2004. v3 was
the first version for which IMAP had been promised, and I myself
joined the crowd that already was experiencing and reporting IMAP
errors even then.

It's been four years, and things have grown worse. Congratulations.
Maybe a change in (company) president may be in order - what the heck,
it worked for the U.S, too.

1. There are some very tech-savvy people on the TB Beta list.

2. TB's IMAP issues don't seem to affect all the group members, but

I understand that. I have been using TB for 3 1/2 years (having tried
it some years earlier, before I had either Gmail or IMAP of any kind).

Nevertheless the stability of TB! IMAP connection and some other
issues are being discussed for years now. In some versions it seems

That is what I understand, from being on the TB Beta list. Of all the
Windows IMAP-capable clients, it seems as though the two best are (in
this order): 1) Mulberry (which has an ugly and overly complex interface
IMHO); and 2) Thunderbird (whose interface is better, but not as good as
TB's). As I have mentioned, Opera Mail does very well with Gmail's
IMAP, also, but its interface IMHO is not as good as even Thunderbird's.

All I'm saying is that we're waiting for years now and it's really

I don't see any of those in that path here.

Odd.
I don't even have the thebat.exe entry that you've kept. Might be a
difference between Vista an XP...

Hello Miguel,

M Yes, you are just a little older than me but, admit it, you look /much/

Where do you see Bob's photo? He does not appear in my setup, and I have
just downloaded the latest 'Rogues' file.

When it comes to the age stakes I regret to say that unfortunately I think
both of you are quite a long way behind me! :(

Same here, not exactly the same keys but exactly the names I use to test
some beta (2 or more exe in the same directory) ... ;)
How could the installer know that ?
