This upgrade delete the messages from 30 november to 21 dicembre. All lost...
I don't know if it is important, but on 30 november i saved with a backup all my data.
Now go back on 4.0.38 and restore correctly.

Please test the 4.1 release MSIs which we are going to release on
 Tuesday.

 http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/thebat_pro_4-1-3.msi

Installed (only Core) and running.

Two little issues:

1.- My 'Add or Remove programs' in Control Panel shows two (2) entries for
TB v4.1. I am not sure now if there was only one before this last
installation, or not. I should have verified.

Aside of that, there is a little difference between the two entries as
you can see in attached PNGs. The first one shows 'used occasionally'
and the date of last time used, and the second one shows as 'hardly
ever' used and no date.

2.- I always do a Custom installation to only install Core and no
multilingual interface nor dictionaries. As I can recall from the 'n'
last installations, when I select Custom, the Multilingual Interface and
Dictionaries were always Xed (unselected for installation). No big deal
but this time I had to X them.

I removed [thebat_home_4-1-rc1.msi] version completely (retaining the
mail files and settings, when I uninstalled it) so as to get a good,
clean install, in the newest one (home version).

All is up and running well at this time. I even checked the run TB
icon in the installation screen at the end, since sometimes TB would
crash in the past after doing that. But all was well in the immediate
start at the end of installation process, also.

You at Rit Labs are to be congratulated!

Unlike some others here, I have only one .exe for TB running in Task
Manager. Even the icon in the task bar with flapping wings doesn't
show in Task Manager, so all seems ok for my uses (I don't use many of
the advanced features that some of you use, including the one for
brewing a cup of coffee at 5 AM through one's wireless network to the
coffee machine). Perhaps Starbucks will be contacting Rit Labs about
that one!

2008-12-20 Thread MAU
Hello Maxim,

confirmed, I have 4.1 twice here too now.
This is a trouble when you have installed RC1 and then the 4.1 final,
 both entries present.

Yes, versions 4.1.1.0 and 4.1.3.0 as you can see in attached PNG.

I will not update the MSIs to fix this trouble, but in future this
 trouble would not happen.

Do you think it is safe to use this Windows Install Cleanup utility to
remove the old entry?

I locked up when I clicked launch and closed the install window. I had
thebat and thebat splash both 'not responding' in the task manager. I
tried to end task on thebat first, to no avail. Only by end task on
the splash did it close down.

It seem to be running fine now.

MM I see that Win2K is quite popular in TBBETA. BTW, who did try it
MM under Windows NT 4.0? We've done some fixes recently to work under NT 4.0.

I'd love to test it under WinNT, I even have an installation disc for
NT 4.0. But, alas, I neither have another spare computer nor the time
to test it. So, Win2k is the oldest system I can offer (it's on my old
Dell notebook, and I believe it will stay there for the notebook's
lifetime... ;)). The Bat! runs well over there too. :)

I locked up, when starting the first or second time, as i right clicked
on an Attachment in Preview Window of Mainscreen and tried to save the
Attachment, but i can not recover this any more...

Poorly i updated AVG (from 18.12.2008) at the same time, there for i do
not know what caused the problem.
