I'm afraid that would have to be implemented by spell checkers (SSCE,
Hunspell, etc.). I use QTs for that as an alternative. The only
difference is that you have to type Ctrl+Space after the magic word
instead of just Space.

I use QTs for it, too. But create a QT with the handle ... and the
content …. = ...+[ctrl][space] = It's broken, see the thread a
year ago, starting with: mid:166121873.20080213112...@ahrendt.net

That's why I filed the wish for a seperate Autocorrection feature like
in OpenOffice.org.

Why should I? It worked in The Bat! up to version 4.0.x exactly that
way. I do not like workarounds in a workaround [1] for a missing

I don't think it will work quite that way. There was an original 3 digit system
which was replaced with a 4 digit system. If you know the original it will
still work but if you just chop off the leading zero you will get a different
character ☺

No, under Windows it is always assumed that missing leading digits are
zero. I know this very well, because i often use @ which is ALT-64 and
not all keyboards have that sign...

Try the ones I put in to get the © and ® - without the leading zeros you get ⌐
