While you wait for more expert advice, when you edit/compose a
message, the menu should show Spell Checker next to the right of
Utilities. There you click on Automatic checking.

If you are using non-US spelling, you need to download and install the
international pack. (I use the British spelling)

In the message editor, choose Spell Checker then Automatic checking.

On the night of April 14, 1865, Lincoln went to the theater and got shot
in his seat by one of the actors in a moving picture show. The believed
assinator was John Wilkes Booth, a supposedly insane actor. This ruined
Booth's career.

Pasting Tabs

2007-04-13 Thread Fredrik Bergström
Hello The Bat! UserList,

I found an interesting error with pasting text containing tabs in
  the MicroEd.

If I create the following text in notepad test \t test and replace
the \t with a tab, then copy the text and paste it into the MicroEd
then the cursor will not be placed at the end of the pasted text.

  Anyone seen this before?

Maybe you're using the wrong viewer (plain text or rich text, just
right-click in the message preview pane)?

I actually got it straightened out. The problem was in both viewers and with
both odd and even quotes. I changed the font size to something crazy (like 20
point), saved it, then changed it back to what I wanted and it stuck.
Apparently when I tried that earlier I didn't save it and then go back. No
idea why I had to go through all that foolishness, but it's fixed now. Thanks.

Confirmed with 3.98.11. Not seen before, but definitely is not a
notepad thing as I can reproduce it using GViM as well.
