Re: Weird display problem
Hello Jack, If you've already read my reply to Rick you'll see that your suggestion proved to be the solution. Changing the HTML viewer to TB's instead of the system HTML viewer did the trick. Yes, I have seen your reply to Rick also. Glad the suggestion worked. Be advised though that you may get an HTML message that does not display (or doesn’t do it correctly) with your current viewer and will probably do it with the alternate one. I have seen this happen too. PD. I'm using this message to test the recent magic word with gmail. Let's see if I get my own message. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Encryption
Hi, is there a kind of encryption which don't need at first reading a long documentation? I've installed GNU-pgp but simply don't know how to go further. I've skimmed the documentation, but didn't get a clue. Isn't there a software which automatically encrypts mails and the reciever can read it with a password I give him or her. Similar to what's possible with PDF docvuments. -- Regards, Gunivortus Using The Bat Vs. 5.4 under Windows 8 64 bit POP3 only. Default New Message Editor
Is there any way to change the default editor that TB! uses when creating new messages? I went into Options|Preferences to the Viewer/Editor item and tried all four possible settings for the Default editor for text setting, but TB! always gives my MicroEd and plain text. I even tried each setting, saving it, stopping TB! and restarting, but the setting is apparently not used. I've searched, but I've been unable to find any other place where I might be able to choose the default editor and/or message format for new messages I create. Is my bat just broken, or is this a known problem or (most likely) have I missed something critical? PS: What I'd REALLY like is to be able to set this preference per email address in my address book as well as a system default for destinations not in my book. This is a very nice feature that Thunderbird has and it is very handy, because I no longer need to remember what format each and every person in my address book prefers (or requires.) -- Steven Vallière | tb 5.4 | mailto:the...@e-visions.com -- If you didn't write it down, then it didn't happen. -Larry Zana Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

That should work, even though it can be overruled with the %SetEditor=? macro (substitute the question mark with 1, 2, 3 or 4) You can usae that macro in accopunt, folde and address book templates. GG This is an old note - you would have to try it nowadays: OpenPGP 7 July 2005 This software is built into The Bat! already. To exchange encrypted email, each party must create a key set ( a public key and a private key). In the Bat!, Tools –OpenPGP-OpenPGP Key Manager Keys tab, New Key You create your own key. Use 1024 key encryption. Need to use a pass phrase. Preferably not short, e.g. a poem or line from one, to be kept secret, tho could put in KeyText with control-shift key. E.g. Example 1: Willy Wonka meets the Terminator Example 2: willywoNKA meet$ the^ terMIN@tor You need to select the key in OpenPGP Key Manager and Export (the public key) it to a file. Then email that to other party, who then Imports the key to hes system. You need to receive other party’s public key and Import it to your system. When sending an email, Privacy- OpenPGP-Sign and encrypt entire text. The Bat! Help files- Privacy covers this. The keys are filed in PubRing.pgp and SecRing.pgp in TheBat!\MAIL folder. The file “How to use PGP” in PB Documents-Security is detailed about PGP in general (not about OpenPGP). (Forget about GnuGPG) Have deleted keys and am not using any of this at present. -- Paul - Using The Bat! v5.4 on Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 ...I M a tru beleever in hour edukashun sistum. Setting up TB on new ssd drive, keeping the old drive as storage
Hi, I've recently installed an ssd on my laptop, keeping the old drive as storage in the modular bay. I set up TB fresh on the ssd, and then synced it with a TB install from another laptop. Everything seemed fine, but now I've noticed that the TB folders on the ssd are somehow linked with the TB folders on my old c:/ drive (now showing as d:/). When I change a folder name on D, the same folder name gets changed on C. I renamed the whole TB folder on D as an experiment, and TB was no longer finding the messages, and I received error messages, when checking my mail. I've no idea, how I managed this, or how to fix this situation. I was about to wipe the old drive, to use as file storage, but fortunately, I haven't done that yet. Can anyone help? -- Best regards, Susannemailto:sisk...@gmail.com Using The Bat! 4.2.6 OS: Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Rather than changing on the HD, try this from within TB: Account / Properties / Files Directories / Hoime Directory. Change this to where you want the messages to be stored, and the files will be moved there. -- Cheers, Thomas. http://thomas.fernandez.hat-gar-keine-homepage.de/ Message reply created with The Bat! 5.4 under Windows 7 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1 Current version is 5.2.2 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
