lost unread tab display fonts

2013-11-13 Thread Jenny Zonneveld
Hi,
I've recently upgraded to version 5 and have a couple of questions:

1: I accidentally deleted the ''unread tab - how do I get it back?

2: The font used to display the list of messages per folder is larger than in
version 4 and I can't find where to change it. This is a shame because I have
to make my columns wider to dee the date received and created properly.

TIA

I forgot to answer this. You may change font and/or adjust the size in
Options/Preferences/Message List. Click on the 'Change' button at the
lower right.

M 1.- Select Options/Preferences/Message list/Tabs and then click on the
M 'New' button on the top right.

M 2.- On the 'General' tab on the 'Set up message list tabs' dialog that
M opens:
M - Enter Unread as Name
M - Leave the color as Default or change it to your preference
M - Select (tick) 'Use on Main window' and 'Use in separate message
M viewer'
M
M 3.- On the 'List' tab, just make sure the default for 'Message list
M source' is 'Current message list'.

M 4.- On the 'Filter' tab:
M - Select 'Replace current message list filters' (should be the
M default)
M - Select (tick) 'Use quick filtering' and in the 'Message must be'
M options select (tick) 'Unread'.
M
M Then just click OK and OK again. That should do it.
M

Thank you - I've been able to restore the unread filter now

Thank you again, I must have missed this setting.
I've also found a new feature I like, and that is the shading for alternate
rows. :-)

Did you accidentally click on the X on the tab? I have done that more
than once, I feel it's way too easy to accidentally delete a tab. I would
prefer if deletion was better protected, and in the same menu as
Configure Tabs

Anti-spam spider

2013-11-13 Thread Leonard S. Berkowitz
Has Anti-spam spider become stricter. I am finding an increase of the
number of e-mail notes that end up in the junk folder, many from
regular correspondents of mine. This morning, I found seven (7) e-mail
messages from this list in the junk folder.

Thanks.

And, if you did accidentally click the X on the tab, you can get the tab back
also by right-clicking anywhere on that tab bar and selecting CONFIGURE TABS.

In version 4.0.38 all I have to do is right-clich the tab bar and put
the tick back in front of Unread in the context menu.

Vew pane disappearance

2013-11-13 Thread TheLimit

Hi Batters -

I don't know what is going on with this package. I wrote a while
ago, but if any of you were trying to help, the messages
disappeared. Perhaps the problem is being generated somehow by
ComStar .. er ... Comcast ... since that is the worst affected
account, though I don't understand how.

I did get rid of the 50k or so of duplicated messages, and got
the filters turned off. I do not have the time to process mail
manually, but without any idea why or how the filters failed, I
am afraid of beginning the cascade over again.

After I wrote the first time, my view pane disappeared. This
further slows down my mail management and processing, and makes
it harder to figure out what is going on.

If there are earlier responses, I don't know how to access them,
except locally. I no longer have a link to the list db, but I
expect I can retrieve my pw, if I could search there?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Cheers!

Just out of curiosity, if you go to VIEW + WINDOW SPLIT MODE, what mode is
selected? If your WINDOW SPLIT MODE accidentally got changed, that might
explain your missing pane.

Just out of curiosity, if you go to VIEW + WINDOW SPLIT MODE, what mode is
selected? If your WINDOW SPLIT MODE accidentally got changed, that might
 explain your missing pane.

I have always used the 'split pane', which gives me an account
list at the left, the right pane split into an upper list pane,
 the lower the view pane.

There is no longer any 'window split mode' on my VIEW menu.
Window split mode is now on the WORKSPACE menu. Took me a while
to find it when I upgraded.

It was set there when it disappeared, but I have set it to all
possible settings since in the effort to give it back. It's now
set to 'full width preview'. I have two lists; one of accounts
on the left, and one of the header list on the right.

I assumed I'd reduced the view pane to the point the grab line
disappeared at first; if that's what's happened, I have been
 totally unable to retrieve it.

Oh ... I forgot to mention that I no longer have auto sig files
either. I have to add them manually, unless I reply directly
from a specific email. It is no longer picking up sig files from
the AB at all otherwise. Most of the filters are set against
particular addresses, a few are folder or account specific, but
they don't appear to be working as they did in previous
versions. Only a few were working correctly when I turned them
off. It seems I no longer have any idea how they operate.

The whole thing seems to have had a nervous breakdown of some
kind, and I don't have any idea where to start. Everything I do
seems to break something else.

There has to be a fix. ThunderBird and I are not compatible, nor
for that matter is any other mail client usable for my purposes.
I'm afraid to deinstall and reload for fear of losing my db. I
upgraded from 5.8.? in hope of stabilizing the filters, and got
the view window and sig problems on top of the filters. It didn't
fix the filters :-/

So ... I'm scared, Batters. I'm not ready yet to abandon my
correspondence and research vices.

Thanks, Jack, for anything you might think of. Glad to answer any
questions, if I can catch the mails.

Cheers!
