It didn't work or perhaps I did not understand what you meant. I put
%TOFNAME in the body of the template for the group. When I initiated
a new message for the group, the name of the group appeared in the
body of the message. I did not go any further.

Here is the group new message template:

ידידות וידידים
%TOFNAME
%Subject="לקראת הפשט של החומש"
%TO=""
%BCC="P'shat_on_the_Pentateuch "

%CURSOR

%REPLYADDR

Using The Bat! %TheBatVersion

%WindowsPlatformName %WindowsMajorVersion.%WindowsMinorVersion
Build %WindowsBuildNumber %WindowsCSDVersion

There are two lines in Hebrew that may not display correctly on your
computer. Ignore them.

Thanks,

Leonard

I was not aware that there is a "group" mail function.

When I send to a group, it is usually a group that I defined as a
group in the addressbook (where people can belong to one or more
groups).

As such, when I do a mass mailing to a group
 Dear %TOFNAME,
inserts the first name of each person.

Hope that helps.

I have groups defined in my address book as well. When I want to send
main to a group, I light the name of the group and single click other
paper and quill icon. That brings up a new email note. I have the list
defined in the bcc field:

line_name

I will try that again, but as I wrote earlier, the %TOFNAME come up as
the name of the group, not each group member in turn.

Thanks,

Leonard
