Account / Properties / Files & Directories.

You can change where your mail database is stored. It does not change where the
.exe file resides, but I understand you want to move the large mail databases.

I am using Gmail and POP under v10.2. However, I set it up a long time ago. Do
you have the problem with an existing account or are you trying to set up a new

Make it optional, please. In our business, we always need the full email thread

How exactly do you forward? Over here, pictures and other attachments are
forwarded.

My settings:

I use the arrow button to forward rather than the menu item.

Well I do that too. But over here it is not much work, because I highlight the
whole CC line and then copy and paste, and do the same with the BCC line. This

Disadvantage of the whole idea: Each time a mail check happens, the *.TBB files
are updated and hence Dropbox uploads the whole file. On a metered connection,
this can become very expensive...

It was worth trying out, though.

These are the learnings:

1.) The accounts on the different computers need to have the same name and
folder structures. (That's obvious)
2.) The drive letter where Dropbox resides must be the same on both computers.
(That's why it didn't work at first. Had to rename the drive on one machine.)
3.) Only one computer can run TB! at any time, and when you close it, you have
to wait until Dropbox actually updates all files from the first commputer to
the second.

Dropbox sometimes takes its time to propagate file updates. When updating an
account, I was surprised that the update was not shwon in the otehr computer,
then found this:

I also found the same "conflicted copy" for MESSAGES.TBB file. It took me a
while to figure out that the file was updated by Dropbox on the target machine
while TB! was open there. So, point number 3 above took some time.

I will now think of a good use for my new finding. :-)

Hello TBUDL,

So far so good: I pointed the Files & Directories for one account to the
Dropbox directory I had created for this purpose. Mail databases are
synchronised; I deleted a message in TB! on one computer, then started TB! on
the other, and the message is not being shown any more.

Of course, I did this with an account that I don't use any more. So I cannot
test sending and receiving, but I think it should work. I will create an
throw-away accout and give it a spin.

Mail database in Dropbox

2021-10-29 Thread Thomas Fernandez ML
Hello TBUDL,

I have TB! on two computers (PC and laptop) and always download seperately,
using POP. IMAP does not make much sense for me, as I am often in countries
with slow internet connections - let's not discuss this. I want to use POP.

I have a prefessional Dropbox account and use only a small amount of the space.
So my idea is now to move the mail database to the Dropbox folder, so it will
be updated automatically. In effect, I will have an IMAP effect including
flags, such as "read/unread" or "flagged.

If course, I will have to have the same folder structure on both machines. I
will move the database of the back-up machine (laptop) first, and then the
database of the main machine, as it will overwrite the files.

It sounds so easy and logical to me. Does anybody have any ideas why this would
cause problems? Any caveats?

TIA

Thanks Jerney, that's it! I have small icons enabled because I like that
better. Now I have disabled that feature (badges were suddenly enabled by
default) and the number of unread messages is shown.

Mystery solved.

I don't know whether it is technically possible, but I would like to see the
number of unread messages when using small icons... of course.

Thank you! This message should not have an avast! sig any more.

In addition to [X] Use denser, also click on [X] Display "old style" and see
whether it does what you desire.

Please do not CC to my direct email.

Some images will be sent with the message, others will have to be downloaded
from the net. Did you check the options?

Or you can click on the folder in the accoutn tree and use shft-crtil with up
or down arrow to move it up or down within the account, or use left and right
arrow to move the folder out of and into accounts.

Errr, yes. Gee, the button should be there by default, I believe.

In the header area on the right-hand side, you have a picture depicting a
picture and a green down-arrow. If you click on that, the pictures for this
email will be downloaded.

You will also find a small black down-arrow next to it. Click on that, and you
will be offered choices how to automate downloading of pictures.

FWIW this is ticked over here, but I have never seen the number of messages (or
any infinity symbol) in the taskbar icon. It does flap, though.
