Well noted. I did that now to take a look and hit indeed hit Cancel.

Actually, I didn't have problems with the first one, since I saw
the results; it was all the others! I suspect my system setup is
so simple, that the other choices would be moot in my case
anyway.

Thank you!

I had already re-arranged the folders and didn't have an
opportunity to try this, but will keep it in mind. An undo would
be a great addition, since there's no choice in the window to
restore the previous set-up. I filed the folders into family
members first, then ranked people who need to be answered right
away, then others who are not so frequent. It would be difficult
for TB! to offer a choice to sort this way! :-)Thanks Jack.

The only choice that may need an explanation is the first one: "Items
at the current level". It refers to the level (top folders,
subfolders), of the one you have currently selected when you click
"Name".

I think the rest of Target choices are quite self-explanatory.

Yes, that's it! Thanks Thomas. I now see that there's a
window that governs the folder arrangement, and it at least shows
me that I must have hit 'name' while rushing around and
unconsciously clicking okay to get rid of the window Never
knew it existed! I'd love to have an explanation of how all the
choices might affect my setup before randomly trying each one
though. I notice there's no help button in that window.

No problem if you click on the "Name" header. What you get is the
'Sort Folders and Accounts' dialog, where you can select what to sort
and how. And you can always Cancel.

I believe you have clicked on the "Name" header on top of the folder list. I
don't dare do it now to try, as I don't think there is an "undo" function...

Sudden rearrangement of folders

2021-02-14 Thread Maggie Meister
Hello Bats,

The strangest thing just happened - all of a sudden the folders
in my message list have arranged themselves into alphabetical
order. Forever, as far back as version 1, I have used a folder
tree arranged by frequency of activity - those people I
correspond with most. What could have happened? I never
consciously set this, but arranged it manually. I have no idea
how to undo it except to manually move the folders with
ctrl+shift+arrow key back to where they 'belong'. Would any of
you kind bats know how to prevent this from happening again?
