Hi, Rodolfo,

Is good old xdvi rendering your dvi file correctly? Here it seems to
do so. It should complain if some fonts are missing.

gv is not working here too, but those are known bugs
(https://bugs.debian.org/gv) Note also that last gv release is from
2013. Try evince (should also display ps files, at least here it does)

Hi, Rodolfo,

Is package texlive-music installed? Before installing it some fonts
were found missing,

mktexpk: don't know how to create bitmap font for xslz20
mktexpk: don't know how to create bitmap font for mxsk
mktexpk: don't know how to create bitmap font for musixspx
mktexpk: don't know how to create bitmap font for musix20
mktexpk: don't know how to create bitmap font for musix13

and even dvi file looked wrong.

But after installing it result looks good here (Debian unstable).

Hi,

I did not notice this because I was commenting elements selectively until
I noticed that problem was caused by \qu{c}. I guess I was
lucky and previous run was successful (with those elements commented), so
did not need to run again to refresh .aux.

You can also selectively disable babel->spanish shorthands, in this case you
could have put

\spanishdeactivate{<>}

after '\begin{document}'.

Just a side note. This kind of things also appear with some tikz arrows used
together with babel->spanish.

Hi,

babel spanish style defines some default shorthands which may interfere with
other uses. In this case <> in the note seem to be the cause of the problem.

Try disabling shorthands when calling babel for spanish language.

\usepackage[spanish,es-noshorthands]{babel}
