Hi Scott,

I believe the exception to this is where the OCD has a laboratory outside of
Brazil.

Subject: Brazil/ANATEL Regs Changes

Hello Paul,

I noticed that in your message of 26 July you mentioned the recent
ANATEL requirement that test data supporting Brazilian certifications
be taken only in domestic labs, and requiring that these be OCD-
witnessed. I had heard about this from other sources, but do not know
much about the background to ANATEL's decision.

Do you know what prompted ANATEL to do this, or have any other insights
you would be willing to share? I understand ANATEL is holding a public
meeting on 30 July, where this issue is on the agenda - Do you think
there is any chance of getting them to relax the new requirements?

Cheers!
