Oh boy. This makes me remember through which hoops one had to jump back
on the AMIGA to get some nice effects like parallax scrolling and
textured cubes

Nice job :) Maybe you could make the counter a percentage-counter, but
apart from that it at least shows that there is something going on.

Hehe... So it's called parallax scrolling. I was just looking for a
cartoonish/flowery template to write web pages in.

Same with textured cubes... I just thought the cube in the Kirupa
tutorial would look good with flowers on it for an example icon.

:)

FWIW, if anybody likes it I can figure out howto package the code in
one of those egg doodads and upload it...

But, I have a to do list first...

1. Build a flex page to replace the URL based cheat sheet-
http://samfeltus.com/as3/cheat_sheet.html...
Then, there would be few reasons to actually touch the database...

2. Build a couple ornamental swfs to improve the appearance...

3. Fix the preloader, so it doesn't jerk on load and has a
bytesTotal...

4. Very basic documentation...

5. Finish the website Ver1

Wish List

1. A web based image editor at least as good as the basic GIMP
functionality... It's not really a complete browser based environment
when you have to leave the browser to edit images...

PS After experimenting, I just don't get why none of the web
frameworks (that I am aware of) embrace outputting ActionScript AND
Html/JS/CSS etc.

It's really not much different than outputting HTML/JS/CSS/XML, at
least in TurboGears.

Flash 9 is a potent display technology.

I always prefer open source over closed source, but source trumps no
source in my book.

FYI, looks like you've fixed that AS3 exception that I was seeing with
your previous iterations of that app.

Yes, I fixed it as soon as you pointed it out.
