Just upgraded from 7.10 to 8.04 on my HP-Compaq laptop without any hiccups. All 
things previously worked (extra 19" lcd, wireless card, sound card, video

For the forum, if you need admin/mod let me know. I am experienced with
forums.

Bangla forum is a nice idea, but the major problem would be browser + font.
Another problem, all users are not familiar with the way of Bangla typing.

I hope these problems will be solved in no time. Looking forward to the
renovated forums :)

It will be okay to put the iso in /media/sda5/hardy

And then mounting it? This should create vmlinuz and initrd.gz files inside
/media/sda5/hardy which I will copy to /boot ?

kernel (hd0,0)/boot/vmlinuz
initrd (hd0,0)/boot/initrd.gz

5) Reboot your system and choose Hardy Install from the boot menu.

I have few other issues.

1. Rythmbox stopped playing at one point, and is not working even after
restarting the application later the OS.
2. Logout did not work by clicking the icon. Had to do it by Ctrl + Alt +
Backspace.

And,

Why ubuntuforums looks so ugly if we browse it using ubuntu?
Sound quality seemed to be improved, but when we'll get better video
quality?

I have a real bad experience with suspend/hibernation. It was a HP Compaq
NC8000.
I tried with ubuntu, mint, mandriva, fedora, foresight, gOS, PCLinuxOS,
Gentoo none of them worked!

Hardy hibernated on my desktop, hope it will work on my laptop as well.
Unfortunately I don't have it with me now.

Well I'm reading up on the email exchanges. I have downloaded Hardy desktop
CD (not alternate) but have not burnt it on a CD and installed it yet.

I've had a problem upgrading to feisty to gutsy using the alternate Gutsy cd
(it just doesn't work). So I will be backing up my /home/user files and then
doing a format and installing Hardy. 

Can anyone suggest if I can do an install direct from the iso or extracted
iso files on a hard drive partition (I used to do this for Mandriva) without
having to burn a CD? Its ok if I have to make a boot floppy disk... but
please share if this is possible.

Nice to hear that the suspend is working. But the major problem was with
hibernation. Is that working as well?
And why do you exactly have 2 x 3GB for Swap space? By any chance do you
have two separate partitions for Swap?

Go to System Monitor, you'll find your 0% of swap memory is in use.

Shahriar Bhai, I have also used the Utorrent. I have configured my firewall and 
router not to block utorrent. Router configuration is crucial. You have to open 
a port in the router so that it is not blocking the port that utorrent is being 
used. you can go to www.portforward.com and it will tell you how to open a port 
in your specific router.
