Re: [Ubuntu-BD] Better File Manager

2008-10-05 Thread 9el
The list view in my Nautilus 2.22.2 present is pathetic. I like the
list view in windows. I'm waiting some hours to let it download the
latest updates. Fingers crossed.

And I at last made it possible with my Nokia 6020 to have net with
CA-42. Still wanting to try the IrDA.

2008/10/5 Tarin Mahmood [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
Latest version of Nautilus (Gnome 2.24) have list view option it also
supports tabbed browsing, probably not available at 8.04

Gnome commander is a nc like application available at the repository. Also
mc (midnight commender) which is terminal based

Choose the desktop that fits you the best. and no need to uninstall GNOME,
all the desktops can co-exists together, you choose which desktop to use in
 login screen

   - Gnome tends to be simple but consistent, the developers follows their
HIG strictly (but less customization options)
   - KDE comes with many Customizations (and feels more 'windowish' to me,
   which I don't like)
   - Xfce is very lightweight, good for low-end systems, (sometimes feels
   quite limiting)

Why IrDA? IR's speed is horrible if you want to use internet.

2008-10-05 Thread 9el
Horrible it is. I had been using it for about an year until EVENING yesterday :P
Cuz was unable to make CA-42 work(let alone in Windows, also in ubuntu)

it gives only 3-5kbps. But at least its wireless. I'm more interested
because I wanna explore through the options of Accessibilities
available. Like I'd try the bluetooth later.
