 ভাই digg এর বাংলা সাইটের নাম কিন্তু ডিগবাজি রাইখেন। আমাদের কিছু (অ)সাধারণ
 বাঙ্গালী লেখকদের হাতে আসলেই ডিগবাজি খাবে সবাই। নিজের লেখার হিট বাড়ানোর জন্য
 কুকর্ম করে অথবা আজে বাজে পোস্ট দিয়ে সবাইরে ডিগবাজি দেওয়াবে।
   
আপনে মিয়া একটা জিনিয়াস তৈরী হলে এই নামটাই রাখা যাইবে বড়ই আকর্ষনীয় নাম আমি 
সিরিয়াসলি বলছি :-P

I used to be a KDE user. I thought KDE 4.0 was such a disaster I
switched to GNOME. I hate the fact that my right button doesn't do
what I want it to do. But the whole break everything model is
painful for users and they can choose to use something else.

I realise the reason for the 4.0 release, but I think they did it
badly. They did so may changes it was a half-baked release. It may
turn out to be the right decision in the end and I will re-try KDE,
but I suspect I'm not the only person they lost.

I tried KDE4 for day or two.. and it had some nasty bugs and features.
To be frank, KDE 3.5 was much better and superior to GNOME. Personally,
I prefer GNOME's easy to follow clean interface without bugs. What do
you think?.

আমরা এর আগেও একটি মিটিং করেছিলাম সেখানে আমরা ওপেনসোর্স লিনাক্স সহ আরো অনেক 
কিছু নিয়ে আলোচনা করেছি। একে অন্যের আইডিয়া শেয়ার করেছি , কিভাবে বাংলাদেশে 
লিনাক্সকে আরো জনপ্রিয় করা যায় এছাড়াও আমাদের ভবিষ্যত বিভিন্ন কর্মকান্ডের 
পরিকল্পনা করা হয়েছে। ফলস্বরূপ লিনাক্স ওপেনসোর্স নিয়ে বাংলায় লিফলেট প্রস্তুত করা 
হয়েছে । বিএলইউএর উইকিপেজ তৈরী করা হয়েছে যাতে ব্যবহারকারী বাংলায় লিনাক্স ও 
ওপেনসোর্স বিষয়ক অনেক তথ্য জানতে পারবে। এছড়াও মেইলিং লিস্টে তো আমরা ভর্চুয়ালি 
আলোচনা করি মিটিং এ আমরা একে অন্যের সাথে পিরচিত হতে পারি। এটিকে মিটিং না 
বলে আড্ডাও বলা যায়।

আমার মনেহয় এই শীতে মিটিং ইনডোরে হোলে ভালো হয় :)

 সমস্যা হচ্ছে সন্ধ্যা (বানান ঠিক আছে???)  হয়ে গেলে উঠে পরতে হবে। আর শীতকালে
 সন্ধ্যা খুবই দ্রুত হয়। কথা শেষ হবার আগেই মিটিং বন্ধ করে দিতে হতে পারে।

 আরেকটি অনুরোধ জবাব দেবার সময় reply to all নির্বাচন করুন। এটা কয়েকটি লিস্টে
 cc করা আছে।

আমি নৈতিকতার কথা বলছিনা ক্রিয়েটিভ কমনস লাইসেন্স ব্যবহার করে আমি যদি সেটির 
সুবিধা না পাই তাহলে সেটি ব্যবহার করার যৌক্তিকতা আমি দেখিনা। কপিপেস্টওয়ালা 
সিসি লাইসেন্স থাকলেও কপিপেস্ট করবে না থাকলেও করবে এখন সিসি ব্যবহার করে আমি 
যদি তার বিরুদ্ধে আইনি ব্যবস্থা নিতে পারি তাহলে ই না আমি সেটি ব্যবহার করব। 
বেশকিছুদিন আগে কোন ব্লগে জানি একজন ভদ্রমহিলার (ফটোগ্রাফার) একটি ছবি সম্ভবত 
ফুলের ছবি কোন দৈনিক পত্রিকায় জানি অনুমুতি ব্যাতিত ছাপ মেরে দিয়েছিল। ওটা 
ক্রিয়েটিভ কমনস লাইসেন্সের আওতায় ছিল কিনা জানিনা সেই মহিলা সুবিচার পেয়েছিল 
কিনা জানিনা। সিসি ব্যবহার করে যদি অনুরুপ অবস্থায় আমি পড়ি এবং কালপ্রিটটির 
বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নিতে না পারি তবে আমি ব্যাক্তিগত ভাবে সিসি ব্যবহারের যৌক্তিকতা

Empathy 2.24.1 ইউজ করছি। গুগল টকের একজনের সাথে কথা বলতে চাচ্ছিলাম আমি তার 
কথা শুনতে পাচ্ছি কিন্তু সে আমার কথা শুনতে পাচ্ছেনা। সমস্যা কি?

আমি ভলিউম কন্ট্রোল থেকে ডিভাইসে ইনটেল ( এলসা মিক্সার সিলেক করেছি) এখানে আমি 
রিয়েল টেক সহ আরো কিছু ড্রাইভার দেখতে পাচ্ছি

gtalk2vip a really good alternative for calling almost everything ! Read the

To start , you need a SIP client , any SIP client should work

to yahoo/msn/gtalk. Later , I found that it uses the same gtalk2voip
service. So it is not like they have done anything (except importing your
contacts).

Also u can try Empathy. It�s audio capabilities are awesome, it is only
working now with GTalk / Jabber protocols (at least for me), and I think
with SIP protocols it'll also work well.

This method works with any SIP phone. Wengo is one of them, while

For proper yahoo voice chat, you need to wait a bit longer. Empathy is
going there almost. Empathy works with Google Talk nicely. Try to
convince your friends/buddies to convert to the open protocol like
Google Talk and ditch closed proprietary protocols like, yahoo, msn,
etc that only works with MS Windows. Then you should have no problem
with voice or chat or even video.

i enabled  Cube Atlantis from compiz setting manager but didnt see any 
changes it's useto show some fish in transparent cube. i rotate cube but

and wht is the difference between Envy Legacy and EnvyNG

i am writing a guide for compiz fusion. now do the user must install 
propietery driver in order to enable compiz and see effects. and  if i 
recommand  ati and nvedia  card users  to use EnvyNG  to download 
suitable driver for their card is it safe?

Both Debian and Ubuntu Linux provides a number of package management 
tools. This article summaries package management command along with it 
usage and examples for you.

(1) apt-get : APT is acronym for Advanced Package Tool. It supports 
installing packages over internet (ftp or http). You can also upgrade 
all packages in single operations, which makes it even more attractive.

(2) dpkg : Debian packaging tool which can be use to install, query, 
uninstall packages.

(3) Gui tools:
You can also try GUI based or high level interface to the Debian 
GNU/Linux package system. Following list summaries them:
(1) aptitude: It is a text-based interface to the Debian GNU/Linux 
package system.
(2) synaptic: GUI front end for APT

Red hat Linux package names generally end in .rpml similarly Debian 
package names end in .deb, for example:
apache_1.3.31-6_i386.deb

apache : Package name
1.3.31-6 : Version number
i386 : Hardware Platform on which this package will run (i386 == intel 
x86 based system)
.deb : Extension that suggest it is a Debian package

Remember whenever I refer .deb file it signifies complete file name, and 
whenever I refer package name it must be first part of .deb file. For 
example when I refer to package sudo it means sudo only and not the .deb 
file i.e. sudo_1.6.7p5-2_i386.deb. However do not worry you can find out 
complete debian package list with the following command:
apt-cache search {package-name}
apt-get add a new package

Add a new package called samba
Syntax: apt-get install {package-name}
# apt-get install samba
apt-get remove the package called samba but keep the configuration files

Syntax: apt-get remove {package-name}
# apt-get remove samba
apt-get remove (erase) package and configuration file

Syntax: apt-get --purge remove {package-name}
# apt-get --purge remove samba
apt-get Update (upgrade) package

Syntax: apt-get upgrade

To upgrade individual package called sudo, enter:
# apt-get install sudo
apt-get display available software updates

Following command will display the list of all available upgrades 
(updates) using -u option, if you decided to upgrade all of the shown 
packages just hit 'y'
# apt-get upgrade samba

However if you just wish to upgrade individual package then use apt-get 
command and it will take care of rest of your worries:
Syntax: apt-get install {package-name}
dpkg command to get package information such as description of package, 
version etc.

Syntax: dpkg --info {.deb-package-name}
# dpkg --info sudo_1.6.7p5-2_i386.deb | less
List all installed packages

Syntax: dpkg -l
# dpkg -l
To list individual package try such as apache
# dpkg -l apache

You can also use this command to see (verify) if package sudo is install 
or not (note that if package is installed then it displays package name 
along with small description):
# dpkg -l | grep -i 'sudo'

To list packages related to the apache:
# dpkg -l '*apache*'

List files provided (or owned) by the installed package (for example 
what files are provided by the installed samba package)
Syntax: dpkg -L {package-name}
# dpkg -L samba

(H) List files provided (or owned) by the package (for example what 
files are provided by the uninstalled sudo package)
Syntax: dpkg --contents {.deb-package-name}
# dpkg --contents sudo_1.6.7p5-2_i386.deb
Find, what package owns the file /bin/netstat?

Syntax: dpkg -S {/path/to/file}
# dpkg -S /bin/netstat
Search for package or package description

Some times you don’t know package name but aware of some keywords to 
search the package. Once you got package name you can install it using 
apt-get -i {package-name} command:
Syntax: apt-cache search Text-to-search
Find out all the Debian package which can be used for Intrusion Detection
# apt-cache search Intrusion Detection

Find out all sniffer packages
# apt-cache search sniffer
Find out if Debian package is installed or not (status)

Syntax: dpkg -s {package-name} | grep Status
# dpkg -s samba| grep Status
List ach dependency a package has...

Display a listing of each dependency a package has and all the possible 
other packages that can fulfill that dependency. You hardly use this 
command as apt-get does decent job fulfill all package dependencies.
Syntax: apt-cache depends package

Display dependencies for lsof and mysql-server packages:
# apt-cache depends lsof
# apt-cache depends mysql-server

 Yes, it used to automount all hdd which was available during
 installation. But they have changed it from Hardy Heron. I don't know
 what is the reason to do that. I always update from previous
 installation. Therefore I didn't notice the change. Now I noticed it
 as I ran a new installation for Ibex.

অর্থাত ইউজার যখন একটি ফ্লেভার সিলেক্ট করবে তখন উক্ত ফ্লেভারের জন্য যে প্যাকেজ 
গুলো সিলেক্ট করা হয়েছে সেগুলো শুধু ইনস্টল হবে। যেমন ধরুন মাল্টিমিডিয়া এডিশন 
সিলেক্ট করলে ওপেনঅফিস ইনস্টল হবেনা এর থেকে লাইট কিছু এবিআইওয়ার্ড ইনস্টল হবে। 
আর অফিস এডিশন ইনস্টল করলে মাল্টিমিডিয়া কমপিজ ইত্যাদি ইনস্টল হবেনা সুধু

ইনস্টল করে ছি কিন্তু বুঝতে পারছিনা কিভাবে থিমটি এপ্লাই করবো অন্য কোন পদ্ধতি আছে?

আর আমার উইজেটস এপলিকেশন প্রয়োজন ইয়াহু উইজেটস এর মত কার্যকর কিছু। আমি 
সুপারকাম্বা ডাউনলোড করতে চাইছিলাম কিন্তু এটা যেহেতু কেডিই এপ্লিকেশন তাই সাথে 
অনেক গুলো কেডিই প্যাকেজ ডাইনলোড করতে চায়। তবে আমি শুধু উইজেটস এর জন্য এতগুলো 
এপ্লিকেশন ইনস্টল করে যায়গা নষ্ট করতে চাইনা।

সমস্যা গুলো আপনারাই খুজে বের করুন না । কিছু কিছূ আমার চোখ এড়িয়ে যেতে পারে। 
পরিক্ষার আগেরদিন লিখে পোষ্ট করেছি :) ( আইবেক্স সম্পর্কে জানানোর লোভ সামলাতে 
পারছিলাম না ) তাই খুব একটা সাজিয়ে গুছিয়ে লেখা হয়নি ।কিছু বাদ পড়লে জানাবেন। 
আগামীকাল আপডেট করবো।

আর বিবিসির ফিচার নিয়ে আমার কথা হল কোন ধরনের সাপোর্ট দেয়া হল। লিস্ট থেকে 
প্লে করলে সবই তো পডকাস্ট মনে হয় ভিডিও না। বিবিসির কি নিজেস্ব প্লেয়ারের কথা 
জানি শুনেছিলাম।লিনাক্সে সাপোর্ট দেয়া হবে তাও শুনেছিলাম।

আর ফিচারলিস্ট এর লিন্ক কোথায়?

আচ্ছা উবুন্টু আইবেক্সে বলা হচ্ছে বিবিসি ভিডিও দেখার সাপোর্ট দেয়া হয়েছে টোটেমে। 
কিন্তু ভিডিও দেখার জন্য জিস্ট্রিমার কোডেক ইনস্টল করতে বলছে। তো কোন ধরনের 
সাপোর্ট দেয়া হল বুঝিয়ে বলবেন।

আর আইবেক্সের উল্যেখযোগ্য ফিচার মানে পুর্ববর্তী ভার্সন হতে এভার্সনে নতুন কি 
ফিচার 
বা এপ্লিকেশন যুক্ত করা হয়েছে জানতে চাচ্ছি।

wget gui সহ উবুন্টুতে দেয়া আছেনা্ আমি ওটাই ইউজ করি। তবে এটা ফ্লাশগেট বা 
আইডাএম এর মত এডভান্স কিনা জানি না। তবে এটা ভালো d4x নামে আরেকটা আছে মনে 
হয় সিনাপটিকে সার্চ দিয়ে দেখুন

[Ubuntu-BD] Ubuntu addon must

একটা গুরুত্বপূর্ন বিষয় বলতে চাই। আমার মনেহয় একটি এডঅন সিডির ব্যবস্থা করা উচিত। 
তার আগে বলে নেই আজকে বিসিএস এর মেলায় গিয়েছিলাম সেখানে প্রজন্মফোরামের 
মেহেদী আকরাম ভাই এর সাথে দেখা হল। কথায় কথায় তিনি বললেন তিনি উবুন্টুতে ভিডিও 
চালাতে পারছেন না। আমি তাকে বললাম রিপোজিটরি থেকে ডাউনলোড করতে। তারমডেমটা 
উইন মডেম সেজন্য লিনাক্সে সেটা ইউজ করতে পারছেন না। তাই তাকে বললাম নেট থেকে 
কোডেক ফাইল ডাউনলোড করতে।

যা হোক এ থেকে একটা ব্যাপার মনে হল । আমরা যে সকল কে উবুন্টু সিডি দেবো এখন 
তারা চালাতে গিয়ে এমপি3 ভিডিও যদি চালাতে না পারে তবে তা উবুন্টুর প্রতি তাদের 
মধ্যে নেতিবাচক মনভাব সৃষ্টি করবে। তাছাড়া সবার ইন্টারনেট নেই

তাই আমার অনুরোধ সিডির পাশাপাশি যেন একটা এডঅন সিডি দেয়া হয় যেখানে প্রয়োজনীয় 
সফটওয়্যার দেয়া থাকবে যেগুলো বাইডিফল্ট উবুন্টুতে থাকেনা বিশেষ ভাবে Win32 codec 
অবশ্যই।এক্ষেত্রে যদি এডঅন সিডি দেয়া হয় তবে ভালো হবে। যদি মিডিবুন্টুর 
http://packages.medibuntu.org/ সকল প্যাকেজ গুলো মিলিয়ে এডঅন সিডি থৈরী করা 
যায় তবে ভালো হবে। যদিও ব্যাপরটা হয়তো অনেক দেরীতে মনে পড়েছে তাই সম্ভব না 
হলে শুধু Win32 codec যেন অবশ্যই দেয়া হয়।

যাচ্ছেনা।

ya i can come with w32 codec but expert needed to create medibuntu addon 
cd but to  add addon cd to synaptic pm may need to add key file to 
Authentication tab not sure

 চালাতে পারছেন না। আমি তাকে বললাম রিপোজিটরি থেকে ডাউনলোড করতে। তারমডেমটা
 উইন মডেম সেজন্য লিনাক্সে সেটা ইউজ করতে পারছেন না। তাই তাকে বললাম নেট
 
 থেকে
 
 কোডেক ফাইল ডাউনলোড করতে।

 যা হোক এ থেকে একটা ব্যাপার মনে হল । আমরা যে সকল কে উবুন্টু সিডি দেবো এখন
 তারা চালাতে গিয়ে এমপি3 ভিডিও যদি চালাতে না পারে তবে তা উবুন্টুর প্রতি
 তাদের
 মধ্যে নেতিবাচক মনভাব সৃষ্টি করবে। তাছাড়া সবার ইন্টারনেট নেই

 তাই আমার অনুরোধ সিডির পাশাপাশি যেন একটা এডঅন সিডি দেয়া হয় যেখানে
 
 প্রয়োজনীয়
 
 সফটওয়্যার দেয়া থাকবে যেগুলো বাইডিফল্ট উবুন্টুতে থাকেনা বিশেষ ভাবে Win32
 codec
 অবশ্যই।এক্ষেত্রে যদি এডঅন সিডি দেয়া হয় তবে ভালো হবে। যদি মিডিবুন্টুর
 http://packages.medibuntu.org/ সকল প্যাকেজ গুলো মিলিয়ে এডঅন সিডি থৈরী
 
 করা
 
 যায় তবে ভালো হবে। যদিও ব্যাপরটা হয়তো অনেক দেরীতে মনে পড়েছে তাই সম্ভব না
 হলে শুধু Win32 codec যেন অবশ্যই দেয়া হয়।
