BLUA Office is not fully prepared now... lots of work to be done in the office. Not ideal for a meeting of more than 3-5 people. Hello again Please set a time place for the next meeting. Open field is not a good place in this winter season. The cold is one reason, another reason is that it gets dark too early, so we have to rap up the conversation early. If we have our discussion indoor then these problems are overpowered easily. This is very important issue for Bengali speaking computer users. Usually those who adapted bangla typing a long time ago (10-15 years); are more familiar with Bijoy layout. All of the computer users have to spend good ammount of time learning the english keyboard. After that not too many people are enthusiastic about learning another keyboard layout- which leaded to popularity of phonetic bangla layout or probhat. I personally find myself comfortable with these two as well- small learning curve. But for future generation, we need to stop inventing new layout every 6 months and make the most popular or scientific one standard. আমরা এর আগেও একটি মিটিং করেছিলাম সেখানে আমরা ওপেনসোর্স লিনাক্স সহ আরো অনেক কিছু নিয়ে আলোচনা করেছি। একে অন্যের আইডিয়া শেয়ার করেছি , কিভাবে বাংলাদেশে লিনাক্সকে আরো জনপ্রিয় করা যায় এছাড়াও আমাদের ভবিষ্যত বিভিন্ন কর্মকান্ডের পরিকল্পনা করা হয়েছে। ফলস্বরূপ লিনাক্স ওপেনসোর্স নিয়ে বাংলায় লিফলেট প্রস্তুত করা হয়েছে । বিএলইউএর উইকিপেজ তৈরী করা হয়েছে যাতে ব্যবহারকারী বাংলায় লিনাক্স ও ওপেনসোর্স বিষয়ক অনেক তথ্য জানতে পারবে। এছড়াও মেইলিং লিস্টে তো আমরা ভর্চুয়ালি আলোচনা করি মিটিং এ আমরা একে অন্যের সাথে পিরচিত হতে পারি। এটিকে মিটিং না বলে আড্ডাও বলা যায়। আমার মনেহয় এই শীতে মিটিং ইনডোরে হোলে ভালো হয় :) Faisal Ahmed wrote: Dear All, I am very new in this group. Hello folks out there. I hope you had a nice weekend and crazy New Year Party? So party is over... hangover is also over.. now time to kick start the year with some work.. (I know I also wish I could have some more party and some more fun.) As our time schedule the next BLUA Meeting is going to be held on Jan 09, 2009 (yes this coming Friday). Thus I request all to submit meeting agenda on which we will have discussion during the meeting. Also please inform who (and how many) are coming on that day so we can plan where we are going to have the meeting (we can accommodate 5-6 person at most at BLUA temporary office in Banani.)
