Hi, Just want to add my name to the list of peeps affected by this bug :-) I have the Logitech MX Bluetooth Kyb/Mouse, which was fine until 5.10, and after having shelved this expensive monster for a year, I see it's still not fine in 7.04 - but at least re-plugging it seems to re-awaken it. [Bug 103277] Re: ata2 2.6.20-15-generic ata2: port is slow to respond
I have just upgraded from Edgy to Feisty on my laptops and workstation. The laptops seem to have gone fine, the workstation has not. When I try and boot with the 2.6.20-15 kernel, it hangs for a while and then drops out to Busybox with prompt (initramfs) and the message: ata2: port failed to respond Clearly this is a blocker! I am not sure how to get dmesg type information since it won't actually boot so I don't get a record. If I boot the old 2.6.17-11 kernel then everything works fine. The uname -a information is: Linux balin 2.6.17-11-generic #2 SMP Tue Mar 13 23:32:38 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux I could attach the dmesg etc. record is that is helpful. If I try the 2.6.20-15 recover boot then I see messages looking a little like the above which is why I have attached to this bug report rather than create a new one. If this was the wrong thing to do, I can always start a new entry. I am at a total loss to know how to proceed on this one. 2.6.17-11 is fine 2.6.20-15 is totally broken on this one machine although fine on others :-( Thanks. -- ata2 2.6.20-13-generic ata2: port is slow to respond https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/103277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Please read the following carefully, it is important you understand it because you likely have contacted us about special IANA Reserved IP addresses. We are the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), the global authority that assigns IP addresses, including those allocated to all users of the Internet via their Internet providers. There are special sets of numbers that are designed not to be assigned to any particular person. Instead, they are general allocations that are either used in special ways, or designed for use in internal (home or office) networks. These numbers are primarily in the following ranges: * Begins with 10. (i.e. 10.0.0.0 through to 10.255.255.255) * Begins with 127. * Begins with 169.254. * Begins with 172.16. through 172.31. * Begins with 192.168. * Advertised with AS numbers 48128 through 65535. If you are seeing abusive traffic (such as network attacks, or spam) from these numbers, it is important to remember the following things: 1. The traffic DOES NOT come from IANA. As the authority for IP addresses, these numbers are reserved in our databases, but we do not use or operate them, and we are not the source of the traffic. 2. As use of these numbers is untracked and unrestricted, we can not identify who is using these numbers. 3. It is perfectly normal to see traffic from these numbers if you have a small home or office network, or connect to the Internet using broadband. By default, most routers and access points use these numbers to assign to your local computers. In these cases, the numbers represent computers within your own internal network. 4. If you see these numbers in the headers of an unsolicited email, they usually indicate transit between servers within a corporate network or ISP. They are not useful in identifying the origin of an email. In such cases you can usually find the true origin by looking for the earliest Received mail header that is not an IANA Reserved address. Please note the list above is not exhaustive. There may be other numbers that are IANA Reserved that do not originate from IANA, such as unallocated blocks. However, the numbers listed above represent the most common addresses that may appear on the Internet. The only network IANA actually operates is our staff network, which is in the address range of 192.0.32.0 through 192.0.47.255. For more information on this topic, please read our more detailed Abuse FAQ. It is available at http://www.iana.org/faqs/abuse-faq.htm If you still think it is relevant that IANA answer your enquiry (e.g. the abuse does not relate to an IANA Reserved address), please send an explanation of the issue to the following email address and we would be happy to answer your questions: [EMAIL PROTECTED] With kindest regards, Rosemary Bottino Internet Assigned Numbers Authority -- FireFOX has holes like Sweess cheese

[Bug 113358] Re: openoffice.org-math missing in gnome-app-installer and not installed with OpenOffice Writer
According to packages.ubuntu.com, openoffice.org depends on -math and other packages. I just needed Writer, Calc and Presenter, and not the other packages, and incidentally I didn't know there was a metapackage. This could actually be considered a bug in gnome-app-installer (GAI), because GAI offers four seperate OOo packages (Writer, Calc, Draw, Presenter) but not the metapackage. So if you install OOo via GAI you do not get the chance to install OOO Math. You do get it (IIRC) on a default install, but if for some reason you have to reinstall, there is no way to get it without resorting to the shell. IMHO this now boils down to whether the Equation Editor should be considered a vital part of OpenOffice.org, even if you install only parts of OOo. Pro arguments: + It's small (just one Mb, which translates to less than 1/10 cent at current harddisk prices) + It's selected by default in Microsoft Office, even if you install only parts (eg. Word), so MS Office users might expect it Resolution suggestion: - have the big four (Writer, Calc, Presenter, Draw) depend on OOo-Math, or - show OOo-math in GAI Thanks! :) Jens -- openoffice.org-math missing in gnome-app-installer and not installed with OpenOffice Writer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/113358 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 114423] Re: Drawing toolbar dissapears after inserting formula object
Hello Brian, The version currently installed is 2.2.0-1ubuntu3. I noticed it in the Writer application. I would like to add to this bug that Writer has a quite annoying feature. When I've inserted a picture or a table in a document, and I click the table, a toolbar appears. When the toolbar is docked in the menubar above, it flickers on/off when I select/deselect a table. This causes the document that I'm currently editing to down and back up, down and back up.. etcetera. If I choose NOT to dock the toolbar it will popup even though I've closed it before. I used to work with Microsoft Word and it remembers which toolbar has to be showed and which not. I've searched through every possible option in Writer but wasn't able to find where I could disable a toolbar. greetings, Joris Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. With which specific version of the openoffice.org package did you notice this issue? You can check using the command 'dpkg -l openoffice.org'. Additionally with which specific application in the OpenOffice.org suite did you notice this? [Bug 102105] Re: dash does not conform to LSB (-l option, /etc/profile.d)
Well, now, those are two entirely separate assertions. This particular LSB violation is hardly common practice. What you really mean by common practice is GNU bashisms, which is a separate issue, and frankly, has already been talked to death (and, at the least, does not belong here). -- dash does not conform to LSB (-l option, /etc/profile.d) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/102105 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
