[Bug 364531] [NEW] Incredibly painful Jaunty upgrade
Public bug reported: I'm upgrading my server from Intrepid to Jaunty. Straight upgrade, nothing fancy. It should just work. Note : etckeeper was misconfigured and I ctrl+c the first upgrade attempt. It's the only bad thing I did (and I should be allowed to do so). Then, the whole upgrade failed on slapd because : Setting up slapd (2.4.15-1ubuntu3) ... This looks like it would have been entirely appropriate for a freeze exception; unfortunately since there was no package in the queue for consideration, this has slipped past the point where it could be accepted without forcing ISO respins and re-testing, and I don't think we can justify respinning DVDs and server CDs for just this change since it appears to be upgrade-only. [Bug 364694] [NEW] Kernel crash if resume is initiated immediately after suspend completes
Public bug reported: I'm reporting this while running one of Daniel Chen's kernels only because this is the first time I've gotten a stacktrace while my camera was nearby. This is reproducible on official Hardy and Jaunty kernels. Steps to reproduce: 1. Suspend 2. Immediately after power LEDs start flashing fan stops, hit the spacebar to resume 3. Crash As far as I can remember, this crash happens every time I do that (usually close lid, oh wait I forgot!, hit spacebar, crash), but I'll play around and see if it really is 100% of the time. I've mostly learned not to do that. If I wait a few seconds after the suspend completes, it resumes just fine, but if it's within a second of suspend completing, it'll crash. [Bug 306678] Re: open-iscsi fails to correctly update rc.d on intrepid - jaunty upgrade
This is, however, a prime candidate for SRU, which could be started immediately so that it's available at or shortly after release. [Bug 335307] Re: Crimean Tatar (Crimean Turkish) locale (crh) is not shown in gdm languages list, even if language support for crh is added
I understand that chances of this bug being treated as a very high- priority showstopper bug are not very high, and it may indeed be too late to address this in jaunty, but would still like to try and bring this to the attention of ubuntu-release team for a freeze exception evaluation. I've seen similar bugs logged for Asturian, and Yoruba, although i do not know whether they've since already been resolved. 1. Description of the proposed changes: 1.1. adding 1 or more locales currently excluded from gdm to gdm-2.20.10/config/locale.alias (or an external file maintained by i18n team, if any). 1.2. re-building and releasing a new version of gdm. 2. A rationale for the exception, explaining the benefit of the change: language(s) currently not listed in gdm languages list even after support for them has been added, would then be listed in gdm languages list. 3. Any additional information: this should not be a risky update to make, because it doesn't change any functionality, only adding 1 or more languages to the existing gdm languages list, only affecting and benefiting the people who will add language support for those locales. If it is too late for initial jaunty release, i would like to request an evaluation of this being fixed in a stable release update (ubuntu-sru). Thanks. -- Crimean Tatar (Crimean Turkish) locale (crh) is not shown in gdm languages list, even if language support for crh is added https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/335307 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 359803] Re: unable to play video after new install, updates in Flash and Shockwave
disregard what brian suggests. if you followed his instructions remove those files/packages again and install flashplugin-nonfree (or in jaunty flashplugin-installer) again. Your problem is that you are using swfdec. Remove swfdec-mozilla package from your system: sudo apt-get remove --purge swfdec-mozilla sudo apt-get install --reinstall flashplugin-nonfree and ensure that the npwrapper. for libflashplugin.so is selected by running: sudo update-alternatives --config xulrunner-addons-flashplugin ** Changed in: flashplugin-nonfree (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- unable to play video after new install, updates in Flash and Shockwave https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359803 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
