Re: [Bug 302026] Re: likewise-open prevents local passwords from being changed
That is exactly what happened to me. Save versions etc. Basically there will not be a fix. Likewise 5 is not supported on ubuntu 8.1... I am still having no issue with Likewise 5 on Ubuntu 9.04. Am awaiting the first pam update though with some nervousness as I believe that this was what caused my issue. Will make sure I take a full backup of /etc before applying any updates. 2009/4/25 atin al...@tiniusfamily.net I am also having this issue, but passwd doesn't give me the password successfully changed message, but give me... # passwd allen passwd: Authentication token manipulation error passwd: password unchanged If I comment out the entries containing /lib/security/pam_lsass.so from common_auth, common_password, and common_account, I can change passwords and su to local users, but I can no longer authenticate my domain account, which was expected. This problem started occurring after running update. Christian and Tobias, neither of you have the same backtrace as Pete, as neither of your crashes reference miValidateTree at all, so I'm unsure why you're posting to pete's bug? [Bug 321927] Re: /dev/pts and /dev/shm not mounted on boot
scottywz's workaround was successful. As per bug 360160, I replaced the mountdevusbfs.sh with the package maintainers version, and it solved the problem for me. After seeing the above comments, I checked my incorrectly functioning mountdevusbfs.sh script which I had backed up, and I confirm that the Should-Start did not have udev in it. Also, a diff of the 2 files shows that the earlier script had mountvirtfs in the Provides line, which is not there in the newer script. The diff has been attached to bug 360160. Yes, all the steps in your TEST CASE work correctly. But I'm still not able to reproduce the crash. The following, if you have eth0 www.getmyip.org in preferences, then first giplet probes eth0, then www.getmyip.org, if it get's an ip from eth0, it will show the local ip. If eth0 is missing in preferences, then it probes only www.getmyip.org, but if this site is down, then giplet will show only the text giplet. With your last preferences eth1 www.getmyip.org monip.org, if there is no eth1, then it will probe www.getmyip.org, if from there there is also neither an ip returned, monip.org is probed. I can anyway try to ask upstream author about this Bug. On the other side there was LP#307170. Lyman Li added a timout functionality to giplet in 0.2.1, but this version didn't reach jaunty, since I submitted the request for sync from Debian to late LP#354139. Click Apply. 3. run nvidia-settings -q RefreshRate. I says 75. So refresh rate is changed. 4. reboot the computer 5. after reboot run nvidia-settings -q RefreshRate. It says 60. So refresh rate is not remembered. 6. again go to System setting - Display. When clicking on Display icon, the monitor will blink. Don't change anything there. 7. again run nvidia-settings -q RefreshRate. It say 75. 8. reboot the computer and run nvidia-settings -q RefreshRate. It says 60. Enclosed you will find my xorg.conf. I have not manually edited this file. ** Attachment added: xorg.conf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/25953796/xorg.conf -- Screen Resolution is not being restored after relogin https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/268434 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 334944] Re: Xorg crash in miValidateTree()
Hi Bryce, I'm mailing you directly to reduce noise on launchpad - apologies if this is inappropriate. Apologies for misfiling, but as I did write two weeks ago ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/334944/comments/7 ) I was unsure whether this was a related bug or not, and sought guidance as to where to file it. Please don't accuse me of sabotage. Given that there is so little consistency between the backtraces I posted, the last half dozen of which were all triggered the same way, it smells of some asynchronous behavour. Should I file multiple separate bugs? One bug? Some of my backtraces reference other mi* functions, some don't. Thank you for your assistance on this. Kind regards, Christian van den Bosch Bryce Harrington wrote: Christian and Tobias, neither of you have the same backtrace as Pete, as neither of your crashes reference miValidateTree at all, so I'm unsure why you're posting to pete's bug? If you're just trying to shanghai his bug, don't do that, we're just going to focus on his backtrace bug, so if you want your issues investigated you're going to have to file them as separate bug reports. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Triaged -- Christian / cjb http://www.cjb.ie/ -- Xorg crash in miValidateTree() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/334944 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Not yet try to close the compiz. -- compiz / vnc screen updates with nVidia restricted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/77442 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 364222] Re: ata2... bug on startup (9.04 RC)
** Description changed: This bug is on Ubuntu 9.04 RC Jaunty Jackalope. Using Synaptic 0.62.5 The problem is that when I boot the CD to install the system everything is normal but when I want to try the system without any changes I get about 10 lines of: ata2: exception Emask ata2: exception Emask ata2: exception Emask etc. but eventually it will boot and it seems normal. (I checked the CD after burning). After installing and reboot (after Starting up) it gives me the same 10 lines but after that system launches. hi, sorry for that. that has not been intentional. regards, khn Am Donnerstag, den 23.04.2009, 20:11 + schrieb Brian Murray: Looking at the attachments in this bug report, I noticed that xorg.conf was flagged as a patch. [Bug 306049] Re: Network-manager Looks like pppd didn't initialize our dbus module with Huawei E160G (E220) on amd64 Intrepid
My NM now connects. I've noticed the following in /var/log/auth.log: Apr 25 01:43:41 home dbus-daemon: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type=method_call, sender=:1.42 (uid=1000 pid=6083 comm=/usr/lib/indicator-applet/indicator-applet --oaf-a) interface=org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties member=Get error name=(unset) requested_reply=0 destination=:1.56 (uid=0 pid=8443 comm=/usr/lib/NetworkManager/nm-dispatcher.action )) My feeling is that some kind of resolution is failing with dbus, so I changed all deny to allow in /etc/dbus-1/system.d/nm-dispatcher.conf to check if that changed and now I can connect. Anyone knows how the service to name resolution works in dbus so I can correctly correct my system? -- Network-manager Looks like pppd didn't initialize our dbus module with Huawei E160G (E220) on amd64 Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306049 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
