[Bug 217907] Re: Desktop CD fails to find media
Was there a result or response here? I'm not sure if the udevadm settle is actually a fix or just masking the problem. And, I saw in some other code that the udevadm settle command was put in a loop structure after a call to cryptsetup. It didn't seem right there, but I don't understand udev enough to know. [Bug 213818] Re: thinkpad CPU overheat ubuntu hardy 8.04
I've been trying various of the /proc/acpi/ibm/fan commands, but find that none of them have any affect on the fan speed, except disable, which reports it as being zero, but doesn't the laptop seem otherwise unaffected. Disengaged mode also makes no difference. Might this be a confusion between the old /proc/acpi/ibm interface and the newer /sys/bus/platform/ one? Given that these do not actually change the fan speed, there is still no real workaround. [Bug 383002] Re: KMS on karmic with i845 inivisible cursor
Cursor is back again and works with: Linux version 2.6.30-999-generic (r...@zinc) (gcc version 4.2.3 (Ubuntu 4.2.3-2ubuntu7)) #1244192415 SMP Fri Jun 5 09:45:34 UTC 2009 from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds GtkPerf is still slow on i845 about the same as 2.6.30-5 KMS modeset 1 takes 42.5 seconds KMS modeset 0 takes 40.3 seconds For comparison, Vesa is still fastest on this i845: vesa takes 27 seconds with 2.6.30-5 Not sure when/if 2.6.30-999 versions will be on Karmic. I'll check Alpha 2. Re: [Bug 382812] Re: Large downloads cause SATA link timeout/reset and loss of disk access
That is excellent news. It might be worth you also trying the latest kernel for Karmic. This kernel has the Ubuntu delta applied but is otherwise the same v2.6.30-rc8 kernel which you reported as good on your system. That would boad well for Karmic at least. -- Large downloads cause SATA link timeout/reset and loss of disk access https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/382812 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 384025] [NEW] parted_server reports Can't have a partition outside the disk! when creating one primary partition spanning the whole drive
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: partman-auto When creating a expert recipe that specifies a (primary) partition to span the whole device, parted_server will report Can't have a partition outside the disk! (see below). This can be reproduced by using the default atomic recipe and disabling swap ($defaultignore{ }). Or add another disk and specify one large (-1) partition on it.
