Re-introducing qemu-kvm, as commentary on qemu-devel mailing list suggest there could be a timing concern meaning poor performance. Leaving Libvirt on this report, as upstream libvirt have quoted improved performance adjusting the block size for dd. However, Qemu feel that the real issue is in the qemu/kvm code. The funny thing is Synaptic is able to purge the package while Aptitude isn't. As far as I can tell, this is now working okay. I haven't been able to test a package upgrade, but have tried installing a new package with and without /etc/default/tomcat6 already existing and with/without TOMCAT6_[USER|GROUP] being set and all seems well. If the tomcat6 user and group are customised, the package sets the ownership as requested and also does not create any extra users or groups. The only slight problem is that the group for the log and cache directories is hard-coded to adm and any post-installation changes will be reverted by package updates. I think we can live with this, but we had previously changed this group to be the same as the group for the other directories. It is not possible for a sysadmin to tweak the permissions of directories as these will not be honoured by future package updates (no statoverride checks). The backup01-sd is a vmware virtual machine running on an ESX host, has a SCSI
tape unit connected to
it, and emulates this network card:

(rev 10)
The backup jobs of our fileserver stopped working after we upgraded to bacula
5.0.1-1ubuntu1 in Ubuntu 10.04,
resulting in the following error message:

out why from this error
message I got in the logs. Even worse, other jobs after it also failed because
of this message:

Neither tsi-vms01-fd nor backup01-sd logged an error at the time the
error occurred. Our tapes have a label written on it which says: 'IMB
TotalStorage LTO Ultrium 400GB uncompressed, 800GB compressed'. The tape
unit itself has a label 'IBM TotalStorage LTO Ultrium 3'. The fileserver
job takes at least 500GB. I suspect that the tape gets full at some
point, and that bacula doesn't detect this. The backup01-sd
configuration is:

You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: samba SUMMARY: Following instructions to create a shared folder through Nautilus (right-click Sharing Options Share this folder, and following the subsequent prompts) does not always work. For some people, it works immediately. For other people, a solution has been found, which requires extra steps. I found this a problem across a small network of five computers: - one 64-bit Ubuntu (Lucid 10.04) - two 32-bit Ubuntu (Lucid 10.04) - one 32-bit Xubuntu (Lucid 10.04) - one Windows Vista. Every Ubuntu computer had the identical problem. Other people have reported having this problem. As following scenario shows, the problem occures really because of a oviously invalid table which I backuped inside the mysql data directory: Test1) Before starting the problematic mysql server security release (5.1.41-3ubuntu12.3) by start mysql the mysql data directory shows following entries: debian-5.0.flag ibdata1 ib_logfile0 ib_logfile1 mysql mysql_upgrade_info tcexam tcexam9 tcexam.bak1 zm Mention the entry tcexam.bak1 which is an exact copy of the tcexam table directory. (identical according a diff -r and also the access rights are same. Possibly I copied the table manually some years ago by a cp -a tcexam tcexam.bak1 - I didn't use these two tables since then because I'm working now on another table tcexam9). After starting the mysql-server (release 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.3) the only directory entry left is: tce...@002ebak1 So a l l t a b l e s d i s a p e a r e d - including table mysql and all other tabels! Test2) After restoring the directory from the backup and deleting tcexam.bak1 manually before starting the mysql-server, all is working fine. Test3) After that I did another test with the now working setup: I stopped the mysyl-server, copied tcexam now manually by a cp -a tcexam tcexam.bak1 and started mysql again - but now the problem doesn't happen again! (But of course I can reproduce it by resoring the original directory content.) As I mentioned, this happens only with mysql-server-5.1 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.3, not with older releases! At last I looked into the subdirectory tce...@002ebak1 and what surprise all the tables are there: db.opt ibdata1 ib_logfile1 mysql_upgrade_info tcexam9 zm debian-5.0.flag ib_logfile0 mysqltcexam tcexam.bak1 Strange isn't it? Expanding, how about someting along these lines? - If all chats are in one tabbed window, X-ing them sends them to messaging window with the entry Tabbed Chats. - If the umber of separate chat windows are equal to or less than, say 5, then have them as separate entries in the messaging menu. If there are more than that number, give a warning that X-ing them away will disconnect the conversations. Maybe you need to recompile and modprobe nvidia.ko. Also, try the nomodeset kernel option, since nouveau might claim your graphics card before the nvidia driver is even loaded. The etckeeper post-install command that fails is run at the very end of the apt run (here, at the very end of the update) so that should not leave things in a broken state. It just fails to commit the /etc changes in the etckeeper bzr repository. As the previous commenter said, doing sudo etckeeper commit 'I just upgraded' should be enough.
