This still happens on Lucid, but there's a less complicated fix for this. The status moule is normally enabled with `a2enmod status`. I think I've found the problem. It is in the pgsql extension. The memory for the notices is allocated as non persistent but the whole structure is persistent. The destructor tries to free memory that was already cleaned by the garbage collector which causes the segmentation fault. Hi Wolfgang, a first and quick comment: this is not a NUT bug, but rather a PSP one! 2010/7/21 Wolfgang Lubowski oops, doesn't work like I expected :) nut.conf: MODE=none apart from some binary issues with PSP, this one is still sitting on NUT 2.2 compatibility. On Debian, I've recently added with the 2.4 releases the above nut.conf. This one is not supported by PSP for generating NUT configuration files. Thus, PSP still generates /etc/default/nut. so, first, modify the above none for standalone, and call a sudo invoke-rc.d nut start then check that it is working with upsc mgeups. Also note that the PSP is abandoned. I've not worked on it for a long time, and will not work on it anymore. Is ppa:zulcss/server-lucid-bug-fixes different from what is pointed at
by https://launchpad.net/~zulcss/+archive/ppa ? The later is still
showing a 2010/06/28 build date which is broken for trying to run PHP
scripts under apache2. It is missing libapache2-mod-php5{a} and
php5-intl{a} from the build. aptitude then removes the existing
libapache2-mod-php5 module and leaves the system broken for running PHP
scripts under apache.
I'm not familiar enough with the ppa configuration to see a later php5
update.
And the documented script for adding ppa's to Ubuntu 10.04 (add-apt-
repository ) is broken for access through firewalls.

Public bug reported: 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.4 from lucid-proposed has a broken post-start script. After starting mysql, /var/log/syslog says: init: mysql post-start process (11493) terminated with status 1 Looking at the post-start script shows two problems: 1) ret = $? Note the spaces before and after the '='. There should be none! As it is now, it tries to run a command called ret instead of setting a variable. 2) /usr/bin/mysqladmin --defaults-file=$HOME/debian.cnf ping If this returns a non-zero exit status (most likely because mysql isn't fully up yet), the post-script exits immediately! Ok, after some few hours more of listening, I can report that, if not fixed, the problem is diminished by several orders of magnitude at least. Very interesting. I used the command: sudo gparted /dev/mapper/nvidia_aevhdfib to access my raid with gparted. I shrank a partition and created a new ext4 partition. The partition was created without flaw and conformed to the naming convention! It appears that the behavior of gparted may also be inconsistent between supported chipsets?! Many CS-related people are using Google as well, but there is a large number of those who mainly use Baidu. I am a 100% Linux user (there's no Windows in my hard drive). I use Google at most time. In some special cases I use Baidu, e.g., I want to get the results in Chinese while I search in English. My parents use Baidu. Many of my non-CS friends use Baidu. I am not willing to persuade them to use Google instead, like I seldom persuade someone to use Linux, because they are used to what they are using. I think adding Baidu into the list is a good idea. Not making Baidu the default is also a good idea, because if the users encounter Linux problems, Google will help them much well than Baidu. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: chromium-browser Chromium is getting too hungry for RAM. It is not crucial and the system overall does not hang as has been reported before, however it is a very annoying problem. With a few open tabs (like mostly wikipedia.org) it manages to consume up to 500MB. I have some extensions turned on, they do not seem to be the culprit. It is actual tabs. I believe I'm hitting the same bug, except in karmic (9.10) The dialog comes up and asks me if I want to replace the existing file: foo.flac. If I answer Y, it does so and proceeds to the next file. If at any of the tracks, I answer N, I get an error message for every remaining track to be extracted. I have two DVD drives on the system, it doesn't matter which one the disk is in that I refuse to re-extract.
