[Bug 915900] [NEW] Lucid update to 2.6.32.54 stable release
Public bug reported: SRU Justification Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from Linus' tree or in a minimally backported form of that patch. The 2.6.32.54 upstream stable patch set is now available. It should be included in the Ubuntu kernel as well. git://git.kernel.org/ TEST CASE: TBD The following patches are in the 2.6.32.54 stable release: ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Lucid) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Tags added: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Lucid) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/915900 Title: Lucid update to 2.6.32.54 stable release To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/915900/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 915891] Re: MacBook Pro 7,1 brightness controls don't work
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue. However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request. We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not. You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released. If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add a tag named: bot-stop-nagging. Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Tags added: kernel-request-3.2.0-8.15 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/915891 Title: MacBook Pro 7,1 brightness controls don't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/915891/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 915895] [NEW] Mozvoikko disabled by default for users
Public bug reported: There is an issue that with the new Firefox policy of disabling 3rd party extensions by default, mozvoikko is now disabled by default for every user even though it's automatically installed as part of Ubuntu installation. There is also no pop-up wants to install this extension in the case of new installations, so the user simply sees that spell-checking does not work in Firefox/Thunderbird, unless he manually realizes to go to the Extensions dialog and enable Voikko extension. A fix has actually been developed, and after what looks like a pretty thorough testing phase, it's been merged - I imagine the holiday period slowed things down a little (though this would ideally have all been sorted before the holidays) - but it was a complicated issue to fix, with nearly 2000 lines changed over 11 files, so I can understand time being taken to make sure it's a solid fix that doesn't break anything else. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/876198 Title: When switching workspaces with rotate/cube previous Ws contents are momentarily displayed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/876198/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 294666] Re: PulseAudio causes sound latency in 8.10
I've been trying to use the fix from comment #34 in 11.10 (Unity), this far without success. I copied firefox.desktop from /usr/share/applications to ~/.local/share/spplications and modified it there so that it executes /usr/local/bin/firefox For the rest I followed the steps from comment #34. However, when I click the Firefox button in the Launcher (or whatever that taskbar is called in Unity), nothing happens. When I run the command 'firefox' in a terminal, I see why: I get the message 'permission denied'. When I run 'sudo firefox' all seems to go well, but I'm not too comfortable running the browser with administrator privileges. [Bug 915926] [NEW] Oneiric update to 3.0.17 stable release
The 3.0.17 upstream stable patch set is now available. It should be included in the Ubuntu kernel as well. git://git.kernel.org/ TEST CASE: TBD The following patches are in the 3.0.17 stable release: Linux 3.0.17 xfs: fix acl count validation in xfs_acl_from_disk() usb: cdc-acm: Fix acm_tty_hangup() vs. acm_tty_close() race SCSI: mpt2sas: Added missing mpt2sas_base_detach call from scsih_remove context PM / Sleep: Fix race between CPU hotplug and freezer bonding: fix error handling if slave is busy (v2) asix: fix infinite loop in rx_fixup() igmp: Avoid zero delay when receiving odd mixture of IGMP queries OHCI: final fix for NVIDIA problems (I hope) usb: ch9: fix up MaxStreams helper usb: option: add ZD Incorporated HSPA modem USB: option: add id for 3G dongle Model VT1000 of Viettel xhci: Properly handle COMP_2ND_BW_ERR usb: fix number of mapped SG DMA entries USB: Add USB-ID for Multiplex RC serial adapter to cp210x.c USB: omninet: fix write_room usb: musb: fix pm_runtime mismatch USB: add quirk for another camera usb: usb-storage doesn't support dynamic id currently, the patch disables the feature to fix an oops USB: isight: fix kernel bug when loading firmware drivers/usb/class/cdc-acm.c: clear dangling pointer udf: Fix deadlock when converting file from in-ICB one to normal one cgroup: fix to allow mounting a hierarchy by name atmel_serial: fix spinlock lockup in RS485 code USB: update documentation for usbmon ext3: Don't warn from writepage when readonly inode is spotted after error reiserfs: Force inode evictions before umount to avoid crash reiserfs: Fix quota mount option parsing perf: Fix parsing of __print_flags() in TP_printk() IB/qib: Fix a possible data corruption when receiving packets asix: new device id powerpc: Fix unpaired probe_hcall_entry and probe_hcall_exit powerpc/time: Handle wrapping of decrementer wl12xx: Check buffer bound when processing nvs data wl12xx: Validate FEM index from ini file and FW offb: Fix bug in calculating requested vram size offb: Fix setting of the pseudo-palette for 8bpp rt2800usb: Move ID out of unknown firmware: Fix an oops on reading fw_priv-fw in sysfs loading file Documentation: Update stable address MAINTAINERS: stable: Update address ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Oneiric) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Herton R.
