[Bug 985489] Re: nova-compute stops processing compute.$HOSTNAME occasionally on libvirt
Description of this problem I have met this problem before. This bug is mainly caused by libvirt openstack-compute driver for libvirt. When you meet this problem. You may type command. $ virsh list --all If this command get stucked, you may face this problem. Another interesting appearance is that, if you type $ ps aux | grep libvirtd You may find two libvirtd service is running. Such as, .. /usr/sbin/libvirtd -d ../usr/sbin/libvirtd -d You kill one process, then libvirt will be ok. But sometimes later, the bug will come out again. Reasons of this problem Why this bug comes out? 1 This bug mainly caused by libvirt. The older verion of libvirt has multi-process/multi-threads lock bugs. Sometimes, when multi-processes access libvirt/libvirtd services by libvirt-api, this error will happen. Especially, if you access libvirt from differe process or threads, then this bug will come out. All accesses of libvirt will get stucked. 2 The driver of libvirt in OpenStack, access libvirt/libvirtd service too frequently. Especially, when you have a lot of vms running on libvirt. Solutions for this bug: 1 You have to update you libvirt/libvirtd services. My advice is your libvirt version should 0.9.13. 2 We may have some methods to get lower frequent of these accesses. I think I can fix this Bug. ^_^. I have fix it in my env of openstack. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nova in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/985489 Title: nova-compute stops processing compute.$HOSTNAME occasionally on libvirt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/985489/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1170589] [NEW] [raring] wicd-daemon fails to start
Public bug reported: When starting wicd via sudo wicd -foe, I noticed that the daemon does not find the backup symlink in it's backup_location. Replacing line 1705 in wicd-daemon.py with: if not (os.path.exists(backup_location) or os.path.lexists(backup_location)): Fixes the problem as it is checking now whether a backup file and backup symlink is existing. [Bug 831768] Re: aptitude cannot handle conflicts with multiarch enabled
The newly uploaded 0.6.6-1ubuntu1.2 version works perfectly for me on a reasonably complicated Precise server with a mixture of i386 and amd64 packages. Upon starting aptitude, it immediately started complaining about broken packages and all sorts of fixes that it wanted to apply to fix all sorts of problems, so I was skeptical at first. However, this turned out to be because of some pending actions that aptitude still remembered from the last time that I ran aptitude (months ago, just to test whether the problem with multiarch had been fixed without me noticing). Telling aptitude to forget all pending actions got me a perfectly clean system according to aptitude. Thanks for all the efforts, I love aptitude very much, although I've gotten used to using apt-get as well now :-) Aptitude is much easier to use for selectively upgrading packages, though, which is sometimes necessary on my servers to minimize downtime caused by package upgrades. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/831768 Title: aptitude cannot handle conflicts with multiarch enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/aptitude/+bug/831768/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1071928] Re: isc-dhcp-server-ldap (4.2.4-1ubuntu10.1) is not capable of ldap
I couldn't easily test this against an actual LDAP server, but I confirmed that the LDAP and non-LDAP binaries are no longer identical and that the LDAP version appears to look for the extra config options. So even if it doesn't actually work, we're already infinitely better than where we were before (and I'm pretty confident that it'll actually work provided an LDAP server with the right schema). ** Tags removed: verification-needed ** Tags added: verification-done -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1071928 Title: isc-dhcp-server-ldap (4.2.4-1ubuntu10.1) is not capable of ldap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/isc-dhcp/+bug/1071928/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
