[Bug 468809] Re: Support adding custom debs from a local apt repository
Actually, --ppa sounds as complicated as --mirror to me. You have to do (too) much effort to build an ppa first. The workaround proposed by Nick sounds better in this respect, but still I think that it has the disadvantage that it is tinkering, because you copy in deb files which - even when you remove them after installation - result in an unclean, not size-optimized image. Summarizing, we have two workarounds: a) using --mirror or --ppa: Leaves image clean, but requires additional setup effort b) using a self-scripted solution: Leaves image unclean, but requires only few additional setup effort What I was thinking about is a solution, that leaves the image clean and requires NO additional setup effort except using the --add-dpkg switch. This would be a very basic but clean solution. Of course, internally it could be combined, i.e. vmbuilder could setup its own ppa, copy the specified deb files there and do rest like if the user provided the --ppa switch him/herself. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vm-builder in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/468809 Title: Support adding custom debs from a local apt repository To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vm-builder/+bug/468809/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

It isn't clear if logwatch is supposed to parse dovecot log entries already and is getting it wrong, if you're reporting a Wishlist bug to have this feature added, or if you're just looking for local configuration help with logwatch. Please could you clarify? If you want help configuring logwatch, then this bug tracker isn't the appropriate place; please see http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community for pointers and change the bug status to Invalid. Otherwise, please explain and change the bug status back to New. Thanks! ** Changed in: logwatch (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to logwatch in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1173595 Title: Unmatched dovecot lines in logwatch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/logwatch/+bug/1173595/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1098561] Re: Unsupported hardware watermark appears when FGLRX is installed on 13.04
I upgraded from 12.10 to 13.04 and had the unsupported hardware watermark issue with a Radeon 6770 plus fan speed control for the card did not work. The fix in the bug description did not work for me but instead corrupted the fglrx driver. After running the script, X froze and I could not kill it and could not switch to a terminal. Subsequent reboots went straight to a crashed state. I made a backup of the .so file so was able to restore a working system by rebooting into recovery mode and restoring the backup. I then tried to uninstall and reinstall fglrx and that did not get rid of the issues. Finally, I tried uninstalling the Ubuntu version of fglrx and installing version 13.4 from AMD's website and thad did fix both the image overlay and the fan speed control issue. AMD Driver: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx The Install Instructions I Followed: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/ATI Notes about the 13.4 install process. - Install driver worked. - Make Package option did not work (missing dh). - No need to run amdcccle -- the old xorg.conf worked fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1098561 Title: Unsupported hardware watermark appears when FGLRX is installed on 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1098561/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1174414] [NEW] Geolocation not working in Chromium
Public bug reported: navigator.geolocation in Ubuntu's chromium-browser package is not working. Easiest way to see what's wrong is to go to http://html5demos.com/geo According to developers from chromium.org, it's a packaging issue. I've linked to the bug report and google group post below. But here's the post: #7 phajdan...@chromium.org This is a packaging issue on Ubuntu side. The Ubuntu packagers should contact me (it's not obvious from their pages whom I should contact) about this. [Bug 1173238] Re: Ubuntu starts up to black screen.
I'm seeing the same behavior on an HP 530 laptop (don't have it in front of me at the moment; it's either a 945GM or 940GML chipset according to specs) after an upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04. A workaround I've found is entering the GRUB menu manually and booting with options quiet splash removed. Also worth note is that I have removed those options by default by editing /etc/default/grub and running update-grub. But the workaround only seems to be effective by manually entering the GRUB menu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1173238 Title: Ubuntu starts up to black screen. The crash is easy to fix, but the design makes no sense... Move is responsible for Snapoff/Snapback of semimaximized/maximized windows. [Bug 1171451] Re: Ubuntu 13.04 (raring) hangs on minimizing windows
To my experience the freeze happens with the last window that is to be minimized (when there are no further windows on the screen to be minimized). Steps to recreate the problem: 1. Open any 2 apps (it could be Firefox and File manager) 2. Minimize the first app (it will not freeze) 3. Minimize the second app (now it will freeze) As I mentioned above, if I switch to another workspace and then come back to the workspace (Ctrl+Alt+Right , Ctrl+Alt+Left) then the freeze is gone. ** Tags added: desktop last minimize unity window -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1171451 Title: Ubuntu 13.04 (raring) hangs on minimizing windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1171451/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

RE: [Bug 110784] Re: Toshiba laptop battery is drained while shut down
David Tarrant wrote, inter alia... I am keen to learn if this problem was ever resolved in later kernels. The reason is that I would like to wipe winXP from my netbook, but I am concerned the battery drain problem may return. I quote from my previous post of 2010-06-02: I had this problem on my new Toshiba NB200-10G; BIOS v1.2; Ubuntu 9.10 NBR (dual booted with XP) [snippage] I found that unloading the appropriate driver on my Toshiba R-100 (Puppy Linux 4.2) cured the problem. So, I had little scripts that, for example, unloaded the Ethernet driver when I connected via WiFi, as part of going into suspend mode (and reloaded it when emerging from sleep mode), and as part of shutting down. This solved it for me, and, since I'm still running the same 2006-era kernel, I don't know if it's been fixed at the system level in later versions. -Shel -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110784 Title: Toshiba laptop battery is drained while shut down To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/110784/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
