[Bug 1413388] Re: [SRU] upgrade of MAAS removes local config for bind and breaks DNS
I tested by installing bind9 on Trusty, then installing maas 1.7.6+bzr3376-0ubuntu2~14.04.1. I verified that the forwarders were properly migrated to the MAAS configuration, as long as at least one cluster interface was set to be managing DNS. The forwarders are migrated into the MAAS database, and values such as allow-query, allow-recursion, and allow-query-cache (which MAAS had previously always written into /etc/bind/maas/named.conf.options.inside.maas) are now only written if the values are not already present in /etc/bind/named.conf.options. Hopefully this solves the issue for everyone. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1413388 Title: [SRU] upgrade of MAAS removes local config for bind and breaks DNS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1413388/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1474311] [NEW] There's no nickname or display name fields available
Public bug reported: In vCard there's support for all kinds of names: family, given, middle, nickname, but also a separate formatted name. There should be a priority list for which of those would be displayed when available, and a config option to change the preference between at least given family and nickname (separate pref for family, given, bug #1439140). At the moment in the contacts list, I can see the formatted name (as synced from a remote address book), but when I open the contact, family and given names are displayed in the header - and I can't edit the formatted name. When searching, only the display name is used there's no way to search by other properties (bug #1474308). Looking at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VCard, structured name (N) is required in all but v4.0, where formatted name (FN) is required in v3.0+, it seems that the locale/preference-aware formatting would have to happen when editing, and stored in FN. Organization name should be a fallback, too, if no structured or nickname is given - for organization contacts with no obvious contact person. [Bug 1461174] Re: Realtek Wifi card rtl8723be [10ec:b723] WiFi has an issue
@petzke I've tried all different driver options on my Yoga 2 13. Although wifi stability improved, I was never able to achieve fully reliable connection at all times. I've switched to an Intel ac wifi card recently, and wifi is much better now (although still not 100% reliable, but that's another driver's problem). I had problems with suspend-to-ram too, but the situation has improved: I'd praise kernel updates for this improvement. But regretfully I can't say, whether changing the wifi card might have something to do with it. [Bug 1474173] Re: cannot start pulseaudio daemon after adjusting libGL.so.1 settings for skype
UPDATE: I finally just reinstalled, and thought based on other solutions in that same thread that installing skype before bumblebee might fix my issues. So, I reinstalled. Installed skype. Skype works! Sound works! No config options even needed! Restarted computer. Pulse is broken. Skype doesn't work. Installed Bumblebee. Normally, this fixes my 'brightness' fn key functionality (which doesn't work out of the box on ubuntu, I think it's a nouveau bug). This time, it doesn't (including after a restart). I try 'optirun skype', the command to run it under the nvidia card on bumblebee, according to yet another answer on that page. I get this output, suggesting, as I thought, that bumblebee isn't running: @:/etc/X11$ optirun skype [ 869.631200] [ERROR]The Bumblebee daemon has not been started yet or the socket path /var/run/bumblebee.socket was incorrect. [ 869.631265] [ERROR]Could not connect to bumblebee daemon - is it running? this is my log from nvidia: kajo@kajo-6530:~$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep nvidia [ 6.225] (==) Matched nvidia as autoconfigured driver 0 [ 6.225] (II) LoadModule: nvidia [ 6.225] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module nvidia [ 6.225] (II) UnloadModule: nvidia [ 6.225] (II) Unloading nvidia [ 6.225] (EE) Failed to load module nvidia (module does not exist, 0) [ 6.231] (==) Matched nvidia as autoconfigured driver 0 [ 6.231] (II) LoadModule: nvidia [ 6.231] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module nvidia [ 6.231] (II) UnloadModule: nvidia [ 6.231] (II) Unloading nvidia [ 6.231] (EE) Failed to load module nvidia (module does not exist, 0) kajo@kajo-6530:~$ grep Driver /etc/X11/xorg.conf I still kind of wonder if I install bumblebee first, but then use `optirun skype` for it, and don't change any system options, if I would be fine, but I'm loathe to reinstall my system yet again. ** Also affects: bumblebee (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: big-skype (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1474173 Title: cannot start pulseaudio daemon after adjusting libGL.so.1 settings for skype To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/big-skype/+bug/1474173/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
