[Bug 1621753] Re: Google Cast no longer finds Chromecast device

2017-03-14 Thread firespeaker
I appear to be having a similar issue in the following versions:
Chromium 56.0.2924.76 built on Debian 9.0, running on Debian 9.0
Chromium 57.0.2987.98 built on Debian 9.0, running on Debian 9.0

But it seems to be okay in this version:
Chromium 56.0.2924.76 Built on 8.7, running on Debian 8.7

The chromecast device has additionally been confirmed to work okay with
Chrome on Windows and various apps on Android.

[Bug 1672953] [NEW] ISST-LTE:pVM:roselp4:ubuntu16.04.2: number of numa_miss and numa_foreign wrong in numastat

2017-03-14 Thread bugproxy
Public bug reported:

== Comment: #0 - Ping Tian Han  - 2016-12-07 19:14:40 ==
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #148750 +++

On roselp4, we got numastat as this:

% sudo numastat
   node0 node1
numa_hit 0 0
numa_miss 0 292054
numa_foreign 0 292054
interleave_hit 04100
local_node 0 0
other_node 0 0
% uname -a
Linux roselp4 4.8.0-30-generic #32~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Dec 2 03:43:52 UTC
2016 ppc64le ppc64le ppc64le GNU/Linux
%

The number of numa_miss and numa_foreign looks wrong, because the manual says
that "Each numa_miss has a numa_foreign on another node." and "Each
numa_foreign has a numa_miss on another node." But the numbers of node0 are all
zeros.

[Bug 1672950] [NEW] nautilus launched from Unity8 opens a 'Desktop' window

2017-03-14 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Public bug reported:

nautilus launched from Unity8 opens a 'Desktop' window. It needs to be
run with --no-desktop to avoid that.

Although this issue is confused by two other bugs:
  * Unity8 incorrectly chooses Xmir -> bug 1672931 ; and
  * When using Xmir the desktop window is transparent -> bug 1672949

These are three separate bugs.

[Bug 1553328] Re: Mir/Unity8/USC crashes/freezes on nouveau (nv50) in pushbuf_kref() especially with multiple monitors, webbrowser-app or system settings

2017-03-14 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Even easier workaround for Mir/USC: Just default to clone mode instead
of side-by-side, which is the problem in today's duplicate bug 1672793.
Mir's legacy clone mode will at least ensure there is only one
compositor thread, so nouveau should be stable then.

your are referring to as 3rd party and calling the usage of that repository a
WORKAROUND:
https://github.com/vlasenko/hid-asus-dkms
is a PRIMARY repository of authors of the driver for this hardware at the
moment. The code from this repository gets submitted and periodically

[Bug 1553328] Re: Mir/Unity8/USC crashes/freezes on nouveau (nv50) in pushbuf_kref() especially with multiple monitors, webbrowser-app or system settings

2017-03-14 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Per comment #17 it might actually be easiest to build a workaround in
Mir for now... Either disable secondary compositor threads, or build a
SingleThreadedCompositor to replace MultiThreadedCompositor.

In my spare time I'm working on an idea where post() could be made non-
blocking. So that would eliminate the need for Mir's compositor to be
threaded, and nouveau should then work (as well as it ever did for X).

Aaargh. Time!

Robie, if someone on the server team has some spare cycles to prepare
the packages, that'd be great. Sorry!

There's still the question - “What happens if a user has installed
letsencrypt outside of packaging? Will the new cron job cause any
problems?” to be resolved, too.

The nouveau driver is too unstable to handle multi-threaded rendering

try unplugging one of your monitors.

[Bug 1672401] Re: Lacks animated transition between greeter and session

2017-03-14 Thread Daniel van Vugt
OK, I see a couple of seconds of blackness on a Xeon desktop still (even
after the dbus fix landed) so it's easy to extrapolate that a VM will
have even more noticeable blackness.

This is possibly related to Unity8 setting up/compiling QML things.

Although it would be nice to have transitions in USC (and that's the
whole point of it existing and the nested architecture), that's probably
just a "nice to have" on the USC side. I would like to be responsible
for that too, as native GL animation is something close to my heart and
what I've been working toward in the Mir architecture for years.

Remove baremetal notification from nova notifier

This is a revert of change I3d53bff8278dabafd929ecbea0b4b3b441c9e1cf

The nova notifier was updated to notify nova on ports with the
baremetal: device_owner, these ports are owned by Ironic not Nova, so
nova is getting notifications that it doesn't understand.

[Bug 1459613] Re: connecting 2x 4k screens on a Dell XPS12 (9Q33): compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in GLTexture::matrix() from GLScreen::glPaintCompositedOutput

2017-03-14 Thread Daniel van Vugt
It appears swrast has GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE = 8192, so yes 2560x4 exceeds
that. Not sure why "Copy To Texture" isn't helping to fix it.

What if you only use three displays instead of four? Does it work then?
