[Bug 1897835] Re: Unable to install qemu-kvm from proposed on Focal s390x
Hi Po-Hsu, I have looked out for this kind of issues but it never re-appeared in any of my tests nor can it be reproduced. By now I'd assume it was some kind of out-of-sync archive in your case. [Bug 1944946] Re: Path of open-vm-tools libdeployPkgPlugin.so is now multi-arch compliant breaking cloud-init
Hi Xiaofeng, cloud-init releases regularly across Ubuntu - so even older releases will pick up the change with the next round of cloud-init updates. Unless the plan has changed that would be in a few weeks [1] plus some time to make it into SRUs from there. But in addition I think we should also SRU the mitigation we've added to 21.10 open-vm-tools to ensure there is no other (than cloud-init) SW broken by this. I'll therefore prep these SRUs despite a fix in cloud- init coming as well. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. [Bug 1944094] Re: Can't adjust screen backlight on Legion Slim 7 AMD
This seems to also effect the Legion 5 15ach6 (AMD) There are two versions of the legion 5, the 2020 version and the 2021 version. It seems that this issue is fixed on the 2020 version by adding the kernel parameter amdgpu.backlight=0 but I can confirm that this does not fix the issue on the 2021 version, so its likely that the 2021 laptop is suffering from whatever this issue is. I'm guessing that the MUX switch is involved in one way or another, as it means that the NVIDIA dGPU does not have to pass frames through the AMD iGPU, it connects to the display separately, and I'm not sure which GPU actually has control over the brightness control. [Bug 1938299] Re: Unable to SSH Into Instance when deploying Impish 21.10
To clarify the actual root cause here and reflect it back to this original bug. google-guest-agent defines a `PartOf=` relationship with systemd- networkd.service[1]. This relationship means that if systemd- networkd.service is either stopped, google-guest-agent.service gets stopped. When systemd-networkd.service is restarted, so is google-guest- agent. But if systemd-networkd.service is subsequently started after a previous stop call, google-guest-agent is left in stopped state. The call `netplan apply` (emitted by cloud-init after writing network config) in fact calls systemctl stop systemd-networkd.service and follows it with a 'start' instead of directly invoking systemctl restart systemd- networkd.service[2]. This leaves google-guest in stopped state indefinitely. I'm not entirely sure netplan can fix this issue due to some other cleanup they are doing between networkd stop and start, but I have reflected this bug to netplan.io folks and we'll see what the consensus is about whether this can be resolved with instrumenting a "systemctl restart" instead of separate "systemctl stop" and "systemctl start" calls. References: [1] https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/guest-agent/blob/main/google-guest-agent.service#L13 [2] https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/netplan.io/tree/netplan/cli/commands/apply.py?h=applied/ubuntu/devel#n169 ** Also affects: netplan.io (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1938299 Title: Unable to SSH Into Instance when deploying Impish 21.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-init/+bug/1938299/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Looking for advice if anyone has it as to how I can recover my filesystem after being affected by this bug. I installed zfs 2.0.6 via dkms and have moved affected files like my chrome cache to a quarantine location as suggested by Trent. However, I seem to continue stumbling on affected files, and even with /sys/module/zfs/parameters/zfs_recover=1 set I see panics in dmesg and hung processes that cant be killed. From what I've gathered: Running 2.0.6 via dkms means that I'm not running the affected code anymore. However, it seems like there is permanent FS corruption (which is very unfortunate since this is the sort of thing ZFS is supposed to be good at preventing). Is there a best course of action to prevent future kernel panics? Would reverting to a snapshot from before I noticed this issue work, or is there shared metadata that's been corrupted? Should I just copy the files I can access onto another disk and re-create my ZFS pool / dataset? Any advice is appreciated :/ Thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1906476 Title: PANIC at zfs_znode.c:335:zfs_znode_sa_init() // VERIFY(0 == sa_handle_get_from_db(zfsvfs->z_os, db, zp, SA_HDL_SHARED, >z_sa_hdl)) failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/zfs/+bug/1906476/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1946681/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. I can reproduce this issue with this snap: installed: 93.0-1 (631) 157MB - In my case, it's standby/resume that triggers it. However Ctrl+Alt+F3 then Ctrl+Alt+F2 does also. [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics
Had this issue occasionally last year on Ubuntu 20.04, but now every single time in the past week after my laptop wakes up from sleep. Laptop is an Asus TUF F15 gaming laptop, with an NVIDIA 2060 GPU (hybrid graphics with Radeon Renoir GPU). CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H. NVIDIA driver 460.91.03. Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS with Xfce 4.14. Kernel version 5.6.14-050614-generic, dual monitors, one connected to the HDMI port from the USB-C adaptor (DP-0, connected directly to the NVIDIA GPU), and the other one connected to the HDMI port on the laptop (HDMI-1-1, graphics "pass-through" AMD Radeon GPU). see https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/ubuntu-19-04-doesnt-detect-my- hdmi-display/79577/80 When waking up, the DP-0 port (via USB-C, driven by NVIDIA GPU) does not have this issue, but the HDMI-1-1 port (via AMD GPU pass-through) loses cursor. [Bug 1942699] Re: SRU: Update Telegram Desktop to 2.9.2
** Description changed: [Impact] - The newer version of Telegram Desktop, 2.9.2, has support new features - that are worth to bring in Ubuntu (video calls, voice chats, several - pinned messages, multiple accounts, comments in channels, auto-deleting - messages, simple image editor). + The newer version of Telegram Desktop, 3.1.1, which is currently in + Ubuntu 21.10 (Impish Indri), provides an important support for 64-bit + user identifiers. In the next few weeks will register users with UID + more than 2 ³¹ - 1 (maximal 32-bit signed number). These users will be + unseen in ancient versions. + + This version also brings many new features including video calls, voice + chats, streaming platform, several pinned messages, multiple accounts, + comments in channels, auto-deleting messages, simple image editor. + Unfortunately, it is huge task to extract an isolated patch which is + responsible for 32-bit to 64-bit migration. I suggest, on an upstream + author's advice, to do full update of the package. Given the nature of the project, it make sense to do regular updates in order to adjust changes of Telegram service and its server protocol. [Test Plan] - Most testing burden rests with the upstream team. I can do smoke tests - of the new features. + 1. Login as a new user with ID over the bound on a test server. +* Provided that you are not logged in, start the app, go to Settings, + type blindly `testmode`. +* Use any number matching the next format: +999661, where X means + any digit. +* Provide auth code 1. +* Choose random account name if needed, then click the "Sign Up" + button. + 2. Make sure you have gotten a long UID. +* Look into an mtp_*.txt debug log. + 3. Login as an old user in another application instance. +* Use phone +999661 and the same auth code. + 4. The new user writes messages to the old user. The second one receives +them regardless of ancient version. + 5. The old user writes messages to the new user. The second one receives +none of them until the old user updates their application. [Regression Potential] Leaf package. Most potential issues are occasional crashes of the application. The new version also offers OpenGL acceleration, but I am going to disable it by default to reduce hardware related problems. [Other Info] The libtgowt source package need to be backported before. It caries a static library for support Telegram calls. [Bug 1927255] Re: [USB-Audio - RODECaster Pro, playback] Sound is distorted (20.04)

[Bug 1938299] Re: Unable to SSH Into Instance when deploying Impish 21.10
