[Bug 676619] Re: Alt upgrade does not respect Don't use Internet option.
It's been a while since I've looked at this. The download speed presented is not consistent with downloading files off a CD. (Also, how is it getting 943M from a 700M CD? (perhaps compression, but I doubt it)) Now it could be a wording issue, but 130kB/s is fairly consistent with the T1 connection that was present at the time of this report. I'm also not sure if the 2 hours remaining was for the download, or the entire upgrade. I suppose I should have done a packet capture to see if it was indeed heading out to grab a few files or not. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/676619 Title: Alt upgrade does not respect Don't use Internet option. [Bug 579270] [NEW] Improper handling of Symlinked files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero When copying a number of symlinks into Brasero, Brasero reports that the space used totals that of the actual files pointed at from the symlinks and not the symlinks themselves. After burning, it becomes evident that only the symlinks were burned and not the actual files. While it isn't necessarily a problem that it won't burn the actual file (it would be nice if there was an option to fetch the file instead if the symlink points off the disk), it shouldn't report that it will be using all the space of the actual files pointed at by the symlinks. I discovered this because I had a directory full of about 70 symlinks to photos (use the symlinks to sort out the bad ones without accidentally deleting the originals) that I wanted to burn. I decided to try to just move the symlinks over (I upload to websites by pointing the the symlinks), and when Brasero said that it would be filling about half the CD, I figured it was going to be burning the actual jpg files. After burning, I realized that the initial estimate was way off and it had only burned a few KB of data. ** Affects: brasero (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Improper handling of Symlinked files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579270 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 366078] [NEW] likewise-open breaks all logins during/after upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: likewise-open While upgrading to Jaunty, references to likewise-open are removed from pam, causing a situation where it is impossible to log into the system using either a domain or local account. The only work-around that I've found is to boot into recovery mode and fix the configuration files for pam by hand. As my system has its screen locked while upgrading to Jaunty, I was unable to unlock it, and was forced to reboot and manually resume the install. ** Affects: likewise-open (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- likewise-open breaks all logins during/after upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/366078 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to likewise-open in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 366084] [NEW] Desktop wall non sliding windows does not work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compizconfig-settings-manager After upgrading to Jaunty, I noticed that the gnome-panel and desktop were stationary when switching between viewports. I found the setting in CCSM (Desktop Wall - Viewport Switching - Non Sliding Windows). This was set to type=Dock | type=Desktop | state=Sticky. I removed the first two, leaving only state=Sticky. However, even after removing it, the panels and desktop remained stationary. Other settings on that tab changed immediately and without issue ** Affects: compizconfig-settings-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Desktop wall non sliding windows does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/366084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 251895] Re: Misinformation In Install Time Remaining
I can confirm that this is still the case in the Jaunty Alpha 4 install. The message appeared around 75%, but a decent amount of time remained in the install (didn't clock it, but at least 5-10 minutes). Install was on a Dell Inspiron 8600. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- Misinformation In Install Time Remaining https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251895 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
