[Bug 1272959] Re: [Asus M4N98TD EVO] USB devices stop working
I installed and attempted to use 3.13.0-031300 but I was unable to login to my account graphically making the computer completely useless for my work. I let the machine run for 20 mins or so and the keyboard still worked, but at times with the current kernel the machine will go a day without the issue showing up -- this is time I can't spend without access to my computer. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1272959 Title: [Asus M4N98TD EVO] USB devices stop working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1272959/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1272959] [NEW] USB devices stop working
Public bug reported: For the last few weeks I have been having this issue where my usb devices stop working. I have a Razer keyboard which is baclkit -- the lights stay on but none of the keys seem to do anything when the problem happens. If I unplug the keyboard and plug it back into any usb port it does not turn on at all. When the keyboard goes out and I unplug my mouse then plug it back in my mouse stays off. My computer becomes unusable untill I preform a restart. Looking at my logs the only thing I see that seems to be consistant when this occurs are lines like the following... [Bug 1089512] Re: USB devices stop working
I am unable to go to test the newest kernel as I need this machine in use for school work. I am attaching a video that shows the issue. Two months ago I re-installed Ubutnu 12.10, before when I started the bug report I had been using a 12.10 that had been upgraded over time from 10.04 so I thought maybe a fresh install would fix it, but it did not. I am still having the issue. Maybe it is a usb issue? I see that when I plug something into my USB3 port and remove it the disk manager will still say that the device is there, so I plug it back in for a moment -- till it goes away in the disk manager then unplug it. In the video I was playing minecraft and the mouse died, I read on my phone something about how locking the screen then plugging the device back in again might fix it. It did not my computer was stuck at the lock screen and when I tried to plug in a spare wired usb mouse the light would flash for a moment and go away. Side note when ever my mouse dies the extra keys on my keyboard stop working as well, so a-z,0-9,ctrl,alt,etc work but the keys like volume up/down/mute, and any and all fn keys do not work. ** Attachment added: issue.mkv https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1089512/+attachment/3589609/+files/issue.mkv -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1089512 Title: USB devices stop working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1089512/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1089512] [NEW] USB devices stop working
Public bug reported: A few weeks ago my usb keyboard stopped working one day so I unplugged it and pluged it in, it seemed to be dead as not even the numlock key would come on. So I ordered a newer wireless mouse and keyboard combo to replace it. Now the wireless mouse will randomly just stop working, the red light under it is still glowing. Also the keyboard still works, both the mouse and the keyboard use the same usb reciver. If I unplug the reciver and plug it in again nothing USB can be plugged in again until a reboot, they do not even power up. I used the keyboard and mouse set in Win7 and it worked fine the entire week but once my desktop is booted into Ubuntu I never seem to get more than an hour of mouse time before it just stops. When evolution starts to lock up I can click on other messages or folders but it will not load the contents of either. I think it may have something to do with the IMAP account I use for school.
