[Bug 1092119] [NEW] Upgrade from Xubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 stopped by xscreensaver
Public bug reported: While upgrading from Xubuntu 11.10 to 12.04, my computer stopped doing anything for 12 hours. Clicking on terminal in the update manager, I found a message that xscreensaver or xflock is running and needs to be stopped. Had I not clicked terminal, the upgrade would have failed, and the system would then require a complete, fresh installation. There is no indication that there is a hidden message, if the user does not know to click terminal and look, the messge is never seen. Unfortunately, I have not run upgrades in a while, and forgot to turn off xscreensaver. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1092119 Title: Upgrade from Xubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 stopped by xscreensaver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1092119/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 964685] Re: High contrast and High contrast inverse themes are poor quality for the Unity desktop
As stated before, this is not a forum or blog. If you have specific issues, please file specific bugs for them. As a bug report, accessibility is not completely broken for any user. Many of us with disabilities are continuously using Ubuntu. We use a screen-reader, we use on screen keyborads, we use high-contrast themes, we use large cursors, we use large text. Those items may have some issues, but accessibility is not completely broken by any means. Please stop using this as your personal blog now, and help us improve accessibility. If you have specific fixes for issues, include patches with your specific bug reports. If you feel a need to rant, write a blog. --- Ubuntu Bug Squad volunteer triager http://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugSquad -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/964685 Title: High contrast and High contrast inverse themes are poor quality for the Unity desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-themes-standard/+bug/964685/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Please file separate bugs for separate issues. Bugs will be worked by different developers for each package. [Bug 921079] Re: xfdesktop4 cannot be installed on top of lubuntu
Attempting to install Xubuntu on top of Lubuntu PowerPC package should fail. If it were allowed, your installation would fail to run at all, since these are not the same architecture. In Xubuntu, you have the ability to set system shortcuts in Settings Manager - Keyboard. You also have the ability to change and set window manager shortcuts in Settings Manager - Window Manager. [Bug 279339] Re: Xubuntu pcmcia wireless card not working
The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Precise Pangolin. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help. We really need to know if this has been fixed in any release later than Ubuntu 8.10.
