[Bug 445849] Re: Highpitched Rattling like Sound with 5.1 Surround Configuration on Karmic Koala

2010-01-18 Thread Dominik Schürmann
I have done the following things but all of them doesn't resolve the problem
fully:
- options snd-hda-intel power_save=10 power_save_controller=N is commented out
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-conf
- pulseaudio-dev PPA didn't help so i reverted back to the original pulseaudio
packages with apt pinning
- i installed kernel 2.6.32, that did not help so i reverted back to 2.6.31
- /etc/pulse/daemon.conf : uncommented the line enable-lfe-remixing=yes - now
the subwoofer is working again, but the high noise is not gone

[Bug 445849] Re: Highpitched Rattling like Sound with 5.1 Surround Configuration on Karmic Koala

2010-01-07 Thread Dominik Schürmann
I tried the suggestions from Murz, but this only fixes my subwoofer, the
noisy highpitched sounds come again when i move the soundslider a little
bit up and down.

my current workaround is using gnome-alsamixer to move every slider to
100% except the master slider, this slider can be used to increase or
decrease the volume. when using the pulseaudio slider, the sliders in
alsamixer got moved in some directions and produce bad sound.

[Bug 352654] Re: Drop-downs by location in Scan wizard are disabled and unusable

2009-04-01 Thread Dominik Schürmann
Hm that can be right, but a new user of me-tv doesn't know this.
A simple information in the scan wizard, that the package dvb-apps is required
to run a scan by location would help newbies and make it even easier for people
that are new with ubuntu.

[Bug 352654] [NEW] Drop-downs by location in Scan wizard are disabled and unusable

2009-03-31 Thread Dominik Schürmann
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: me-tv

The drop downs in the scan wizard to scan by location are disabled and i don't

But everything just works when i generate a file with w_scan -x file
and choose it in me-tv as file for scanning (in german: Datei zum Scannen
auswählen).

See screenshot!

Ubuntu: Jaunty Beta
Me-TV: 0.7.16

** Affects: me-tv (Ubuntu)

2009-03-31 Thread Dominik Schürmann
Thanks for the quick response, installing the package dvb-apps solved the
problem.
I would suggest to make it a dependency for me-tv!

[Bug 8058] Re: grub-install hangs with xfs root/boot

2008-05-27 Thread Dominik Schürmann
following site helped me to install grub:
http://anti.teamidiot.de/nei/2006/10/debian_grubinstall_freeze_on_x/

i wanted to switch from lilo to grub so this is what i did to install grub
when ubuntu starts i logged in two of the consoles (strg+alt+F1 and F2)
in the first console i started sudo install-grub /dev/sda
when it hangs now i switched to the second console and typed: sudo xfs_freeze
-u . repeat it until grub-install finishes on the first console!

it works now!

oh i just saw i misunderstood something, sry my post was relating to the
last thing satanasinc wrote but that doesn't seem to be related to the
keytouch problem.
