Hello Guy,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2011 and there have been several versions of

Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 837984

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for

this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

1) on my laptop it is ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-5-0, so LO 5.0 instead of 5.1
I have to check if any of them has 5.1 instead of 5.0.

2) I don't have any laptops with the original version, would have to
reinstall it to test that.

[Bug 1584740] Re: Libreoffice impress hanging and high cpu on slide operations

2016-06-03 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Hi Christopher

It happens on every single presentation, not a specific document, regardless of
the presence of images.

When I open those files on Ubuntu 14.04 with libreoffice 5 from PPA or
on CentOS it works correctly, even on the same model laptop.

Both affected laptops run Ubuntu 16.04 and have Intel graphics, though
the model are over 4 years apart.

[Bug 1584740] [NEW] Libreoffice impress hanging and high cpu on slide operations

2016-05-23 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:
- Create a presentation in libreoffice impress, 30-100 slides with or without
images
- Add, copy or delete slides
- On those operations LO Impress hangs a lot; sometimes 5 mins or more
- Opening and saving works quick

Tested on 2 different laptops, both had the same issue. Both did have
Intel Graphics, but different ones. It works fine on the same laptop
with LO 5.1 on Ubuntu 14.04

[Bug 1247216] Re: Support for XMPP

2015-07-23 Thread Guy Van Sanden
The thing is that I really want a solution that I can self-host. I
don't want to use any public servers for chat or mail. I have my
android device set up to use Zarafa groupware (GPL software) through
activesync and Xabber against ejabberd.

The only alternative would be something like tox (peer to peer) but that
won't be mobile friendly any time soon if ever.

BTW, Google still has jabber running AFAIK, I use some people's gmail to
connect through my own jabber id.

Plugged in a logitech cordless mouse and it has no issues so far.

So, the rapoo works fine in precise but not quantal,
the logitech works equally well in both.

[Bug 943918] Re: KVM hangs on creating domains, Qemu and virt-manager disconnect

2012-04-02 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Hmm

If I set the interface to nat, the machines are not available from the network.
I set the interface up via virt-manager and it offers no extra options on a
routed network, so if extra parameters woule be required, that's a bug in the
GUI.

[Bug 965110] [NEW] White square over launcher

2012-03-26 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

I regularly get a white square under the panel over the top part of the
launcher. It does not appear every time, killing it with xkill
terminates the desktop of launcher beneath it (like it isn't there).

Only solution when it appears is either a restart or logout/login.
Closing all apps one by one does not get rid of it.

[Bug 943918] Re: KVM hangs on creating domains, Qemu and virt-manager disconnect

2012-03-07 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Sorry for my late reply, but I had already completely wiped KVM and my
bridge.

Redid the setup and the situation is like this.
- With the default virbr0 everything works
- Adding virbr1 on 192.168.120.0 routed has no effect on existing hosts, even
when they get switched
- Adding a 12.04 server with virbr1 as interface triggers the hang and high load
- Adding 11.10 server with virbr1 works fine
- Adding 12.04 with virbr0 and switching to virbr1 afterwards works too.

[Bug 943918] [NEW] KVM hangs on creating domains, Qemu and virt-manager disconnect

2012-03-01 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

I installed my server with precise-server AMD64 yesterday.
When creating new domains in KVM, the CPU load goes to 100% (by process kvm)

I cannot install any hosts.
This only started after I created a second virbr that is routed, but removing
it again does not help.

[Bug 927541] Re: HDMI monitor issues since 5.2 (hybrid gfx)

2012-02-09 Thread Guy Van Sanden
I understand that you do not support hybrid, but it used to work on
11.10 and 12.04 up to last week, The update batch that broke it
contained Unity 5.2 and I think an Xorg update, not bumblebee or
Nvidia...

Can you please add pulseaudio to the project list (I can only add
upstream) as the HDMI audio issue should be theirs as the first poster
indicated.

[Bug 927541] [NEW] HDMI monitor issues since 5.2

2012-02-06 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

I'm faced with two regression in Unity 5.2 (over 5.0 and 5.2).
When I connect my television over HDMI, sound is not transferred t the TV as it
was before 5.2
I cannot get my laptop screen blank, but the TV on. The other way around (TV
off, laptop on) works.

Both used to work up to the upgrade.

Please note that the nvidia driver is installed but not active, this
system has the optimus functionality so Nvidia GPU takes over using
bumblebee, the Intel card is active by default.

As to the pulseaudio issue, it broke when Unity 5.2 was installed, or some
dependency in that batch.
Last pulseaudio update is from january 30 if I have it right and sound was
working correctly after.

[Bug 922477] [NEW] Status.net backend does not accept self-signed ssl

Public bug reported:

I have my own status.net instance running, but it uses a self-signed SSL

(which is insecure).

[Bug 864504] Re: Deja-dup crashes on gvfsd-sftp

2011-10-04 Thread Guy Van Sanden
It was 100% reproducable for several days, but the problem seems to have
disappeared exactly the way it came...

The SSH server is an Ubuntu 10.04 machine that has been running a long
time, other clients where fine except for deja-dup on my Oneiric
machine.

Will see if it resurfaces, but it's been gone for 2 days now...

[Bug 864504] [NEW] Deja-dup crashes on gvfsd-sftp

2011-10-02 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

Since this week's Oneiric updates, Deja-dup stopped working (without any
config change):

It displays an error:
DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply.
Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the
message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or
the network connection was broken.

and I often have to kill a gvfsd-sftp process that hogs the CPU.

My backups point to an ssh path on the server.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

When you unmount a medium (like a USB key) from Unity, it does not give
any error when it fails (I had a shell open on the path), the icon just
stays there.

This could be confusing to users.

I doubt it's SSL related, the server is behind a reverse proxy that does
SSL termination and that part of the config didn't change. But if I am
correct, it started doing this after I installed Community-ID, which is
using Zend and php-curl...

[Bug 669005] Re: Apache2 crashes on reload

2010-11-05 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Hi Clint

I did exactly those steps:

r...@chaos:/tmp # ulimit -c unlimited
(11-05 13:25)
r...@chaos:/tmp # service apache2 start
(11-05 13:25)
 * Starting web server apache2
   ...done.
r...@chaos:/tmp # /etc/init.d/apache2 reload
(11-05 13:25)
 * Reloading web server config apache2
   ...done.

And get the same error in the log, but no core file.
