[Bug 922274] [NEW] package libicu42 4.2.1-3ubuntu0.10.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: failed in buffer_write(fd) (10, ret=-1): backend dpkg-deb during `./usr/lib/libicuuc.so.42.1'
Public bug reported: I got an error message that Gnome Power Manager failed to install. When I logged in as root, I found out that there was zero disk space left... I checked disk usage and found out that there were some 5 full- and partial backups available. I removed the oldest three and rebooted several times until a disk check ran at reboot. That apparently solved the problem. Apparently no action is required, I must just keep track of my disk space and remove the eldest backups in time... [Bug 477002] Re: package lirc 0.8.6-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 128
I tried to install on a HP Mini 5101 Netbook with Ubuntu 9.10 UNR and got also the 'post-installation script returned error exit status 128'. After some thinking of a possible cause, I realised that the HP Mini 5101 has no IR capabilities... -- package lirc 0.8.6-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 128 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/477002 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 385828] Re: Update-Manager refuses to update after my wrong command to update Pidgin
First, the 'root' ownership of pidgin-ppa.list had to be changed to 'user' rw access: hulk...@c610-ubuntu:/etc/apt/sources.list.d$ sudo chmod -c 0600 pidgin-ppa.list mode of `pidgin-ppa.list' changed to 0600 (rw---) second, the pidgin-ppa.list file was removed hulk...@c610-ubuntu:/etc/apt/sources.list.d$ sudo rm pidgin-ppa.list Then, the update-manager started functioning normally. Problem SOLVED (was not a update-manager bug) THANKS rockfx01 !!! [Bug 385828] [NEW] Update-Manager refuses to update after my wrong command to update Pidgin
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager Error message: Could not initialise the package information An unresolvable problem occurred while initialising the package information. Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message: 'E:Type ‘sudo’ is not known on line 3 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pidgin-ppa.list, E:The list of sources could not be read.' After that, the Update-Manager (and also the Synaptic Package Manager) refuses to get and install updates for all new Ubuntu-related updates (not only for Pidgin). This happened two weeks ago and will detoriate my Ubuntu installation due missing updates... ;-( ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 8.04.2 pidgin ubuntu update-manager -- Update-Manager refuses to update after my wrong command to update Pidgin https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/385828 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
