[Bug 1060125] [NEW] Init script DAEMON_ARGS incorrect

2012-10-02 Thread Kiall Mac Innes
Public bug reported:

The current novnc package included in the ubuntu-cloud-archive
folsom/proposed repo has an incorrect argument in the init script.

DAEMON_ARGS=--flagfile=/etc/nova/nova.conf --web /usr/share/novnc/

should be replaced with this:

DAEMON_ARGS=--config-file=/etc/nova/nova.conf --web /usr/share/novnc/

Other than this, it seems to work perfectly.

[Bug 912066] Re: /etc/fstab contains incorrect device for swap partition when no ephemeral disk present.

2012-01-27 Thread Kiall Mac Innes
This is a nova bug all right, supplies the incorrect device name in the
ec2 metadata.

Nova supplies the following:

 'block-device-mapping': {'ami': 'vda',
  'root': '/dev/vda',
  'swap': '/dev/vdc'},

When it should supply this:

 'block-device-mapping': {'ami': 'vda',
  'root': '/dev/vda',
  'swap': '/dev/vdb'},

It seems to nova asks libvirt to attach the swap device at /dev/vdc, but
since libvirt+kvm simply uses the supplied device name as an ordering
hint, the device is actually attached at /dev/vdb

[Bug 912066] Re: /etc/fstab contains incorrect device for swap partition when no ephemeral disk present.

2012-01-27 Thread Kiall Mac Innes
This is a nova bug all right, supplies the incorrect device name in the
ec2 metadata.

Nova supplies the following:

 'block-device-mapping': {'ami': 'vda',
  'root': '/dev/vda',
  'swap': '/dev/vdc'},

When it should supply this:

 'block-device-mapping': {'ami': 'vda',
  'root': '/dev/vda',
  'swap': '/dev/vdb'},

It seems to nova asks libvirt to attach the swap device at /dev/vdc, but
since libvirt+kvm simply uses the supplied device name as an ordering
hint, the device is actually attached at /dev/vdb

[Bug 912066] Re: /etc/fstab contains incorrect device for swap partition when no ephemeral disk present.

2012-01-27 Thread Kiall Mac Innes
I should mention, I believe the fix is for nova to ask for the device to
be attached at /dev/vdb when there is no ephemeral disk.

Looks like a few #include linux/export.h and #include
linux/module.h's are missing..

After adding export.h into every file complaining about THIS_MODULE, and
module.h into the one file complaining about an implicit function
declaration, the module builds successfully.

I've added the OpenStack nova project to the bug, as I'm another OS user
who is seeing this issue. Maybe someone there can detail exactly what OS
is setting up and expecting...

I've attached the complete panic trace output I obtained via
netconsole..

2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I'll be paying a visit to the datacenter today once a delivery arrives
in, I'll go ahead and try the latest mainline kernel while I'm there.

[Bug 897794] [NEW] Firefox 8 User Agent String Ubuntu; addition causes application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml download

2011-11-29 Thread Kiall Mac Innes
Public bug reported:

The patch added by Chris Coulson in the FF 8 packages to add Ubutnu;
to FireFox's User Agent string has caused some sites to start offering a
download of a application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml file.

This change seems to have caused an issue with 51degrees.com's .NET
Mobile Framework. Visiting a site that uses the framework now prompts to
download an application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml file.

Obviously, this is likely the fault of the framework, and not Ubuntu.
But I felt it should be logged, and I could not find any launchpad bug
regarding this change.
