[Bug 879957] [NEW] Backup fails after initially scanning older backups
Public bug reported: This problem has only surfaced since upgrading to 11.10 Expected result: Backup backs up files to external hard drive as it has previously done flawlessly. [Bug 874872] Re: Switching Users Fails
I have exactly this same problem, which only started after the upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 I'm using lightdm v1.0.1 Attaching the lightdm.log found at /var/log/lightdm/ -- I have quite a few user accounts set up on my system, so I've tried a few variations on this issue. The problem appears to be linked to administrative accounts. Case 1: After booting up: 1. Standard User 'bob' logs in at lightdm login screen. 2. bob selects fast-user switcher, and chooses Standard User 'sarah' 3. Standard User sarah logs in at lightdm login screen. 4. sarah logs out (or just switches back to lightdm) 5. bob logs back in. 6. bob selects fast-user switcher, and chooses Administrator User 'thor' 7. thor types in password at login prompt. Password input screen greys out and thor is not logged in, as expected Case 2: After booting up: 1. Administrative User 'thor' logs in at lightdm login screen 2. thor selects fast-user switcher, and chooses Standard User 'sarah' 3. Standard User sarah enters password at lightdm login screen. 4. Password input screen greys out and sarah is not logged in, as expected I've also noticed that typing in an incorrect password does *not* freeze the password input box. Incorrect password error comes up, and an opportunity to retype the password is provided. Typing the correct password then freezes the box. --- Please let me know how else I might help. Re: [Bug 709941] Re: Gwibber icon appears in systray. can't access it via indicator-applet
Yes. I think it has something to do with corrupted config files, possibly caused during distro upgrade. I've had other weird behaviour from compiz and the gnome panel. New user accounts don't have the problem. How do I reset gwibber's config files to the default, without totally removing all of my configurations for my home folder? [Bug 709941] [NEW] Gwibber icon appears in systray. can't access it via indicator-applet
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-me Expected outcome: Clicking broadcast button runs gwibber and allows it to be used via the inidcator applet menu (the envelope icon) What actually happens: On first clicking the Broadcast button on the dropdown menu from the Envelope, nothing appears to happen. However, gwibber has started and is running in the background as notifications shortly appear on screen. It isn't possible to post updates or change gwibber settings at this point. Clicking the broadcast button again runs another instance of gwibber, which shows up with an icon in the systray. [Bug 361772] Re: black squares appearing instead of some letters when printing
The pdftops CUPS filter script, replacing /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftops fixes this problem for me (using a Ricoh MP C2000). [Bug 56978] Lexmark Z53 stops printing on upgrade from Breezy to Dapper

[Bug 56978] Re: Lexmark Z53 stops printing on upgrade from Breezy to Dapper
Yeah, there's still ink. :-) When I say the printer feeds the paper through, I mean it doesn't even attempt to print on the page. The print head doesn't move. It just pulls the paper through as if I pressed the feed-page button on the printer itself. The message from error_log occurred after attempting to print a test page from the gnome-cups-manager. I've tried to print from gedit, openoffice, firefox and evolution - all with the same result (although not necessarily the same error logs - I haven't checked that). All worked perfectly in Breezy.
