[Bug 1532537] Re: Impossible to choose language on help.ubuntu.com
@JI That's true. I agree it goes counter to modern standards. Maybe "standards" is an exaggeration but at least modern "expectations". I think the current design is due to how translations work. In principle, these docs can be presented in any human language. Having a selector for dozens of languages would also be odd. If we only consider languages that have received significant translations (say 75% translated) then it should feasible, but such a solution would require monitoring and manual adjustments. See https://translations.launchpad.net/serverguide and sort by Status (green is translated). Another solution would be to always show it in English and have a button for "show in your browser's default language". The simplest would be to ditch translations and just have it in English. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1532537 Title: Impossible to choose language on help.ubuntu.com To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/help.ubuntu.com/+bug/1532537/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1492632] Re: [Ubuntu 15.10] Intel Display i915 driver crashes, Asus Zenbook 303LA
The kernel provided in comment #35 also choked with multiple stacktraces. I have been running 4.3-rc3 since Sept 29 with good results. I have only seen a stacktrace when closing the lid on my laptop, which I suppose puts it into some kind of hibernation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1492632 Title: [Ubuntu 15.10] Intel Display i915 driver crashes, Asus Zenbook 303LA To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1492632/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1492632] Re: [Ubuntu 15.10] Intel Display i915 driver crashes, Asus Zenbook 303LA
The last kernel brought me back to my corrupted display. I had to re-install for other reasons and I started back with the first kernel I tried that didn't give me any grief: 4.3-rc1 However, for some reason my display started to freeze up. My mouse pointer would move, I could manage it over SSH, and my apps would be functioning but I could not interact with the desktop. The log I found is pasted below. I have since gone back to Joe's last kernel of Sept 22 ( comment #35 ) and so far so good. [Bug 1492632] Re: [Ubuntu 15.10] Intel Display i915 driver crashes, Asus Zenbook 303LA
I tried a less older upstream kernel (v4.1-unstable) and the errant log messages do not appear: $ uname -r 4.1.0-040100-generic However, I get the display problem I originally complained about (see attached 'MVI_3208.MOV'). [Bug 1492632] Re: [Ubuntu 15.10] Intel Display i915 driver crashes, Asus Zenbook 303LA
What happened: Stacktraces appearing in the kernel log pertaining to the display driver. I don't know if they were there since the installation of Wily or whether they started to appear after a package upgrade. I actually re-installed (stacktraces still present) because I encountered trouble after the BIOS upgrade. The SSD drive was not recognized anymore. In retrospect, I think I could have repaired this by enabling "LCM" as this is what I needed to do after the re-installation. $ sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date UX303LAB.207 03/23/2015 ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Wily) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1492632 Title: [Ubuntu 15.10] Intel Display i915 driver crashes, Asus Zenbook 303LA To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1492632/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1423978] [NEW] [RFE] Enable an upload feature
Public bug reported: Getting the output file to its final destination is a big part of the usefulness of this utility. It would be very convenient to have a switch (-u for upload?) that would trigger a dialog to collect information necessary for uploading the file. Default values for dialog questions would be important (and on a per-distro, or some other, basis) as the usefulness of this feature would be significantly lessened if the user had to fill in a bunch of fields. This could take the form of sub- switches where one, in particular, could be targeted at support organizations, for example Canonical Support (cs), for the Ubuntu distro. $ sudo sosreport -a -u cs An important element would be authentication as we would not want files ending up in the wrong place. One possibility may be for the support organization to have its receiving (sftp?) server change a global password on a regular (monthly?) basis and email it back to the org. ** Affects: sosreport (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1423978 Title: [RFE] Enable an upload feature To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sosreport/+bug/1423978/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1312156] [NEW] [Precise] Potential for data corruption
Public bug reported: Under certain conditions there is faulty logic in function tengine_stonith_notify() which can incorrectly add successfully fenced nodes to a list, causing Pacemaker to subsequently erase that node’s status section when the next DC (Designated Controller) election occurs. [Bug 1286500] Re: Can't perform an HTTP VM install with virt-manager
This is the command I used in comment #8. My gripe is how to continue using preseed since --extra-args is incompatible with --cdrom (i.e. when using the 'ISO workaround'). virt-install -d \ --virt-type kvm \ --hvm \ --accelerate \ --connect qemu:///system \ --os-type linux \ --noautoconsole \ --graphics vnc \ --network bridge=br0 \ --vcpus $CPU \ --os-variant $VARIANT \ --name $NAME \ --ram $RAM_SIZE_MB \ --disk $DISK_DIR/$NAME.img,size=$DISK_SIZE_GB,bus=virtio,cache=writeback \ --location http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/$RELEASE/main/installer-amd64/ \ --extra-args=locale=en_US interface=eth0 DEBCONF_DEBUG=developer auto=true priority=critical $PRESEED -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1286500 Title: Can't perform an HTTP VM install with virt-manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtinst/+bug/1286500/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
