[Bug 991059]
(In reply to comment #4) Raphael Frey, here is the problem with trying to correctly triage this bug: 1) Your downstream bug is completely different then this upstream one. In the downstream, you are requesting the ability to resize the window (ENHANCEMENT), and noting you are having a UI bug in Linux. 2) Here you include all that, plus a similar but potentially different UI problem on the Mac platform. 3) All totaled, you have at least 1 bug and an ENHANCEMENT. Please re-file this bug, one for the ENHANCEMENT, one for the problem on Linux, and one for the problem on Mac. Thank you for your understanding in this. Okay, I see the problem and I'm very sorry for causing this confusion ... Let me just explain the situation briefly: I remarked the problem using LibreOffice in Ubuntu and I thought the problem comes from the options window which is not resizable. (There were similar problems with other programmes in Ubuntu in the past, with options/settings windows which were too small and not resizable). Then I noticed the same problem using LibreOffice on my MacBook. As you might know, settings windows on Mac OS X usually aren't resizable. So I thought the problems on my Ubuntu and Lion system were the same and therefore I reported the bug here (only once). To sum up, this bug report only concerns the bug itself (i.e.: too small select lists in Language Settings Writing Aids). I don't know how the bug can be solved (resizable options window could be one possible solution, but I think larger select lists may be the better solution). Therefore this bug report is really a bug report and not an enhancement request. I'll adjust the bug title and description on Launchpad (Ubuntu) if possible, because it is misleading and differs from this bug request. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991059 Title: [Upstream] CONFIGURATION: Too small select lists in Language Settings Writing Aids To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/991059/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sorry for mixing up package names. Of course the bug cannot be in ‘gnome-panel’ because I cannot use the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [→] either. [Bug 560090] [NEW] ‘Detect keyboard layo ut’ option not working 100% correctly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity It’s no serious bug but still a bit annoying – the ‘detect keyboard layout’ option in ubiquity present on the Live CD of Ubuntu 10.04 beta 2 doesn’t work 100% correctly: I’ve got a Swiss-French keyboard layout (please see [1] for the difference between Swiss-German and Swiss-French keyboard layouts). The suggested keyboard layout in ubiquity (step 3 of 7) is ‘France - Autre’. Because this is not the right layout, I’ve chosen ‘Détecter la disposition du clavier’ (detect keyboard layout). There I’ve typed following keys: u, w, z (on an US keyboard: u, w, y) Then I was asked if the letter ‘ö’ is present on my keyboard. I pressed ‘oui’ (yes) because it is. Now I had to type this letter which I can reach with [⇧] + [é] ([shift] + [é], on US keyboard [⇧] + [:] I think). Finally I was asked if the letter ‘é’ is present on my keyboard. It is, so I pressed ‘oui’ again. The programme now showed me that it has chosen the ‘Suisse’ (Swiss) keyboard layout. As I remarked while testing the keyboard in the box below, the detected layout is the Swiss-German layout and not the Swiss-French keyboard! So I had to correct this mistake manually. In addition it is a bit strange that ‘Suisse’ refers to the Swiss-German layout while the Swiss-French layout is called ‘Suisse - Français’ (Swiss-French). It would be more obvious if the option ‘Suisse’ (Swiss) would be called ‘Suisse - German’ (Swiss-German). __ 1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout#Switzerland_.28German.2C_French.2C_Italian.29.2C_Liechtenstein.2C_Luxembourg ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: ** Description changed: Binary package hint: ubiquity It’s no serious bug but still a bit annoying – the ‘detect keyboard layout’ option in ubiquity present on the Live CD of Ubuntu 10.04 beta 2 doesn’t work 100% correctly: I’ve got a Swiss-French keyboard layout (please see [1] for the difference between Swiss-German and Swiss-French keyboard layouts).
