[Bug 663776] Re: [dash] Search field in Unity can not support iBus

After the upgrade of the im-switch, I have to start ibus manually in the
English locale, the ibus-daemon won't start automatically. What a pity.

[Bug 663776] Re: [dash] Search field in Unity can not support iBus

2011-05-16 Thread Tualatrix Chou
Is there any plan to fix it in Ubuntu 11.10?

Until it has been fixed, I won't recommend Ubuntu to my Chinese friends
any more. If the CJK users can't search in their languages, how Ubuntu
can be an international operating system?

I agree the bug should be critical too.

2011-05-16 Thread Tualatrix Chou
@Gunnar Hjalmarsson

Hi Gunnar, I've tested by your PPA, but it doesn't work.

iBus still can't be activated in search box. I think #23 is right, it's
not ibus's problem, the problem is libnux.

[Bug 779779] [NEW] Drag and drop to webview will freeze the desktop

2011-05-09 Thread Tualatrix Chou
Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 with latest updates, the webkit may have some
problems.

The demo which works under Ubuntu 10.10 can't work under 11.04. Please
try this command:

 curl -O
https://github.com/tualatrix/tools/raw/master/examples/webkit/webkit-
demo.py  python webkit-demo.py

When the window is opened, try to drag any file into the webview, it
will freeze the desktop under 11.04.

I wrote another C demo, it behaved the same.

[Bug 729007] Re: Untiy break the Alt related shortcuts if alt/win key are swapped

2011-05-02 Thread Tualatrix Chou
@Marko

Thanks for the tip. Start a new unity from the shell fixes the problem
of Alt+Key!

I also found that if I disable the Unity in CCSM, then enable it will
fix the problem too.

Hope these information will help the developer to debug.

[Bug 736632] [NEW] Disable the localized digits, or it will not work with some non-English locales

2011-03-17 Thread Tualatrix Chou
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gcalctool

In Chinese locale (zh_CN.UTF-8), gcalctool is already broken because of
its localized digits feature.

I've already reported this problem to the upstream (
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=644980 ), Ubuntu should fix
it too.

A lot of Chinese users have complained about his problem:

 - http://forum.ubuntu.org.cn/viewtopic.php?f=80t=298827
 - http://forum.ubuntu.org.cn/viewtopic.php?f=17t=298629

I've fixed and tested in my bzr branch, but I'm not sure my approach is
the right way to fix this bug. Maybe we can just disable the translation
string.

Yes. I have a fully updated Unity.

And I also have a clean installed Ubuntu 11.04 on the PC, I swapped the
left Alt and Win, then I wasn't be able to use Alt+Num to switch the
Terminal tab.

Please see the attachment, and you can try the swapped alt/win, it might
happen on your desktop too.

Thanks.

[Bug 442233] [NEW] With my EeePC 1005HA, there's no ubuntu logo but text message

2009-10-04 Thread TualatriX
Public bug reported:

I expert a Ubuntu gray logo with black background as normal, but it
didn't display. A text message about the boot progress is displayed.
Then the Xsplash, gdm.

But when I power off my netbook, the Ubuntu gray logo with black
background will be showed without any text message.

The text message when boot up has been attached. Please have a look.
Thanks!

[Bug 155651] Can't compile with the gtkembedmoz.h of firefox-dev

2007-10-21 Thread TualatriX
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-dev

I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon, I've noticed that firefox's version
of Gutsy is 2.0.0.6.

Before I upgraded to Gutsy, my system is Feisy, and I use Feisty to
compile an application that use gtk_moz_embed widget. Thereis no
problem.

After I upgraded to Gutsy, I found there have problem with firefox-dev package.
Because I can't compile the application under Gutsy. Besides this, application
that with firefox-gtkmozembed lib will occur this problem.
if an application have the header file : gtkembedmoz/gtkmozembed.h, and
compile with pkg-config --cflags --libs gtk+-2.0 firefox-gtkmozembed, Gutsy
will tell me:

/usr/bin/ld: warning: libxpcom_core.so, needed by
/usr/lib/firefox/libgtkembedmoz.so, not found (try using -rpath or -rpath-link)
/usr/lib/firefox/libxpcom.so: undefined reference to `NS_GetDebug_P'
/usr/lib/firefox/libgtkembedmoz.so: undefined reference to
`nsPromiseFlatCString::Init(nsACString_internal const)'
/usr/lib/firefox/libgtkembedmoz.so: undefined reference to
`nsCOMPtr_base::assign_from_qi(nsQueryInterface, nsID const)'
/usr/lib/firefox/libgtkembedmoz.so: undefined reference to
`nsCRT::strdup(unsigned short const*)'
...
..

And the same thing won't take place in Feisty.

Another bug is, if I run the application compiled under Feisty with
gtkMozEmbed, Gutsy will tell mecore dumped.
