[Bug 411796] Re: anacron does not execute cron.daily jobs if system is suspended between 6 and 8 am

2009-09-17 Thread fx5
I can confirm this bug in 9.04. In fact there is a pm-handler in file
/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/95anacron
but unfortunately it does not work correctly. I tried to find out why:

* Anacron is started correcty.
* It detects the TO-DO-JOBS
* It sets alarm(300), which is the time to wait for cron.daily
* Tries rt_sigsuspend()
* Gets ERESTARTNOHAND and terminates.

Maybe a kernel-bug? When I start the pm-utils-handly by myself,
everything works.

strace of failed anacron-start:

time(NULL)  = 1253183686
alarm(300)  = 0
rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, NULL, [USR1 ALRM CHLD], 8) = 0

[Bug 363712] [NEW] cliparts are not in gallery-path of openoffice 3.0

Hi!

Using fully updated jaunty installation, openclipart-openoffice.org
installs to directory /usr/lib/openoffice/share/gallery/, but I don't

Public bug reported:

This causes bug #269921.

I created a profile /etc/apparmor.d/fx5-test:
/home/fx5/cat {

}

Here is what i did then :
$ cp /bin/cat /home/fx5/cat
$ sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor reload
$ /home/fx5/cat /home/fx5/test.txt
You should not see this.

Yes, same problem here.

The apparmor-profile allows reading the whole filesystem and has no exception

Hi John,
I installed these packages from your ppa as you asked at 2008-06-10:

 flashplugin-nonfree libasound2-plugins libpulse-browse0
 libpulse-mainloop-glib0 libpulse0 libpulsecore5
 pulseaudio pulseaudio-esound-compat pulseaudio-module-gconf
 pulseaudio-module-hal pulseaudio-module-x11  pulseaudio-module-zeroconf
 pulseaudio-utils

this was on 2008-06-10. After that, I was unable to play videos with
totem. This was caused by pulseaudio or libasound-packages, I think.

Please explain, why you want to update libasound2-plugins-packages in

flashplayer10beta(1|2) works for me with hardys-default

libflashsupport. (Having set asoundconf set-pulseaudio)

I tried you packages a few weeks ago, but they caused trouble, this may

to change them?

[Bug 235135] Re: [MASTER] Please backport flashplugin-nonfree version 10 beta and asound-plugins from Intrepid so we can drop libflashsupport and the crashes it causes

2008-07-06 Thread fx5
 but it's not entirely clear whether he's using the older (and
reverted) version of libasound2 (alsa-lib, from hardy-proposed)

No, i'm using libasound2 1.0.15-1ubuntu3 0 (from
http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main) and flash 10beta1.

If you have new backported versions of libasound, I want to try them. If
they work with totem and so on, too, I am not against backporting. What
issues are fixed by the new versions?

I reverted from flash10beta2 back to beta1, because beta2 consumes a lot
of cpu. Anyone else noticed that?

- Installing Flash 10

[Bug 235135] flash plugin with pulseaudio

2008-06-11 Thread fx5
Ok,
I went back to the packages from hardy's apt-sources and removed the
flashplugin-nonfree and libflashsupport.

I copied libflashplayer.so from original Flash-Player-10 tar.gz to

 asoundconf set-pulseaudio

[Bug 146943] Re: Update to gutsy failed

2007-10-17 Thread fx5
Hi Chris,
thanks for your bug-report, but i think, it is not the same bug.

The update of dpkg failed. I don't know the reason (IOError? maybe a harddisk
problem?)
-
Preparing to replace dpkg 1.13.24ubuntu6 (using
.../dpkg_1.14.5ubuntu16_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement dpkg ...

`./usr/share/locale/sk/LC_MESSAGES/dpkg.mo')
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/dpkg_1.14.5ubuntu16_i386.deb

Now you still have the old dpkg which has no clue how to handle triggers. First
thing you have to do is to update your dpkg-package.
This will fail because of the trigger in `/var/lib/dpkg/updates/0006'.
To get it working again, you can try to remove the line
 Triggers-Pending: ldconfig
and replace the line
 Status: install ok triggers-pending
by
 Status: install ok installed

now you can run
 dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/dpkg_1.14.5ubuntu16_i386.deb
 apt-get --reinstall install libc6
 dpkg --configure -a
 apt-get dist-upgrade

[Bug 146943] Old dpkg does not know about triggers?

2007-10-14 Thread fx5
I had a look into my logfile again and noticed, that this happens before
dpkg is updated!

dpkg-query is failing because it does not know about triggers. This
causes python-central to be unable to parse the package-status.

[Bug 146943] Re: Update to gutsy failed

2007-10-14 Thread fx5
python-apt is packaged with python-central.
python-central use dpkg-query to read the package-fields (like Python-Version).
dpkg-query seems to fail, because it is the old (feisty-) version that does
know about triggers.
There is a trigger-status for libc6.

But I don't understand, how this trigger-status is done when dpkg is not
updated yet.
I tried to find out, but I don't know how this works.

[Bug 112171] Conflict with firefox not needed

The packages hunspell-de-de (and ch..) have a conflict to Firefox.

The reason for this conflict is because iceweasel from Debian is build

problems.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-support-de

hunspell dictionaries are much better for german spellchecking.

This is why openoffice has much better spellchecking in the windows-
version than in ubuntus version.

There is currently a conflict with firefox declared in hunspell-de-de,
but this is not needed, because Firefox is build with libhunspell.

** Affects: language-support-de (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 47561] Re: ACPI-battery monitoring stops working after some time

2006-09-18 Thread fx5
The bug is gone for me since

linux-source-2.6.15 (2.6.15-26.46)
  * Cherry pick fix for HP laptop batteries.
- Malone: #47561
- GIT SHA: 49fee981fa98f3c0a21f3d6c8193eddcc15e84e9

This is also the reason, why i don't provide the kernel-image anymore.
