make sure that for every deb entry in /etc/apt/sources.list you have a
matching deb-src entry. The rest of the line must be identical.

something like deb-src http://in.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial main.
enable deb-src in /etc/apt/sources.list [removing the comments will help
to enable it]

[Bug 1433906] Re: Acer, Inc ID 5986:055a is useless after 14.04.2 installed.

2016-11-22 Thread vipin ms
For those who are waiting for patch, here is the step to temporarily
load the module.

---
# Download kernel sources
mkdir ~/debian/src -p
cd ~/debian/src
apt-get source linux-image-$(uname -r)
cd linux-lts-xenial-4.4.0/ << it can be any kernel.
wget https://launchpadlibrarian.net/230434847/uvc.patch
patch -p1 < uvc.patch
cd drivers/media/usb/uvc/
make -C /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build M=$(pwd) modules

The above step will create a file named uvcvideo.ko in
"drivers/media/usb/uvc/" directory. Simply copy and load the module to
fix the cam issue.

check your running kernel.

$ uname -r
4.4.0-42-generic

copy module

sudo cp uvcvideo.ko
/lib/modules/4.4.0-42-generic/kernel/drivers/media/usb/uvc/ -v

unload old module and load new one:

sudo rmmod uvcvideo; sudo modprobe uvcvideo

Done. Check your cam now.

Thanks gmicsko for sharing the workaround.

[Bug 1153488] Re: Treats bluetooth input device batteries as batteries

2015-02-04 Thread MS
I just performed a apt-get upgrade this afternoon and started seeing
this issue with my Logitech K810 Bluetooth keyboard and Dell XPS 13
laptop. Pretty sure it wasn't there before. The laptop now shows the
keyboard battery in the top panel. When I click on the battery icon, I
can see two batteries listed, the first one is the keyboard battery
which is the actively displayed in the top panel, the second the
laptop's battery.

See attached screenshot, the keyboard battery is identified as a laptop

[Bug 1275794]

2014-04-24 Thread Ms-l
So, to my understanding MST is not supported meaning that multiple (DP)
connected monitors will become mirrored. However, it seems like also the
DVI output is mirrored - is this expected?

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 (i.e. 3.13.0-24-generic) on a T440p attached
to an ultra dock (firmware 2.17), and attaching one DP monitor works
flawlessly together with the builtin display. However attaching an
additional monitor (occurs for both DP and DVI) simply mirrors the first
DP connected display. xrandr outputs the same in either case:

martin@martin-ThinkPad-T440p:~$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1200, maximum 32767 x 32767

   2560x1024 60.0

   1600x1200 60.0
   1680x1050 60.0
   1280x1024 60.0
   1440x900 59.9
   1280x800 59.8
   1280x720 60.0
   1024x768 60.0

   720x40070.1
HDMI2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
VIRTUAL1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

I would expect the DVI port to be working independently of the DP port -
is this not the case?

thanks,
Martin

2 Knarfix, my steps to fix this:

1. Turn off proposed sorceses (if not - it won't work)
2. sudo apt-get update
3. Open Synaptic and downgrade libqtwebkit4 to 2.2.1-4ubuntu1 (it will remove
Skype).
4. sudo apt-get install skype
5. Enjoy ;)

Ubuntu 13.04 PulseAudio 3.0 (today's update) . If I run VLC sound
disappears completely in the system. Other players work normally. I need
to restart PulseAudio to get sound back.

Workaround is like in PulseAudio 2.x - set the Alternate rate to 44100

[Bug 1080701] Re: After 'Preparing to install Ubuntu' screen, raring installation hangs

2013-01-24 Thread Dmitriy ~SH~ [ms] Fedorov
@Shan Anand, your workaround didn't work for me :(

What I did:

1. boot from USB to Live image
2. Open Terminal
3. run command 'ps -ela'
4. find rsyslogd
5. run command: 'sudo kill ' (PID of rsyslogd)

But rsyslogd starting again in a moment with another PID.

If I run 'sudo rsyslogd -c5 -i -d' there will be 2 processes of rsyslogd
and killing the system one starts it again.

And installer hangs again...

What I did wrong?

[Bug 1080701] Re: After 'Preparing to install Ubuntu' screen, raring installation hangs

2013-01-24 Thread Dmitriy ~SH~ [ms] Fedorov
I did now step by step what you did. No result.
But with 24-Jan-2013 Ubuntu AMD 64 Bit image and with 'nomodeset' option
(because since 12.04 live system hangs with noveau drivers and my videocard)
IMHO it doesn't matter.

My system config:

PC
MB Asus Sabertooth x58 / i7 / 12 GB Memory / 64 GB SDD and 2 TB HDD / NVIDIA
GeForce GTX 580

Maybe you have any idea what is a problem?

[Bug 1078930] [NEW] Indicator applet do not getting blue when a message recieved

are shown, but in most of cases indicator don't get blue. I can see a

indicator applet. For POP3 boxes it works fine. I can't do a screenshot
with Print Screen when indicator menu is open so I made a photo.

Also When I choose a new mail in indicator applet in 12.04 Thunderbird
gets focus and comes up. In 12.10 it don't. I need to fill another bug

[Bug 1078942] [NEW] Nautilus strange behavior on list view

2012-11-14 Thread Dmitriy ~SH~ [ms] Fedorov
Public bug reported:

If there are a lot of files in any folder in list view Nautilus behavior
is very strange. I recoded a video, because it is hard to describe.

[Bug 1078945] [NEW] The input line of file name don't get focus automatically

If any other media player (not only Totem) is using PulseAudio 2.0 and
don't have any problems, and VLC does. Maybe it would be logical to
assume that the problem is in VLC?

[Bug 1026426] Re: LibreOffice Unity integration (launcher and switcher) is broken

2012-11-03 Thread Dmitriy ~SH~ [ms] Fedorov
@Trucoto, I confirm that there is such bug.

To reproduce:

1. Open Nautilus.
2. Go to the folder with several Writer files.
3. Open and close this files in random order for over 10 times.
4. You will see 2 icons on the launchbar. One with no icon, and one that is
correct.

The bug is quite random.

[Bug 1068061] [NEW] Almost all messages from Gmail boxes are duplicated in the message-indicator

2012-10-18 Thread Dmitriy ~SH~ [ms] Fedorov
Public bug reported:

Almost all messages from Gmail boxes are duplicated in the message-
indicator.

Fox ex. I receive a message on my Gmail box from Launchpad. It is
duplicated in my Inbox folder and Important folder (see screenshot).

It is also duplicated in the message-indicator and when I read this
message in my Inbox folder it is not marking as read and still showing
in message-indicator, Thunderbird windows and Thunderbird icon on the
Unity panel.

If I delete this message - in will be deleted from the important
folder also.

The problem is on any Gmail boxes and on any PC and laptop where I have
installed Ubuntu.
