I believe that this bug has been corrected in Ubuntu hardy openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 so I am marking it as Fix Released. I think I got a similar problem with the underline. I am running 7.10 on the eee with ooo 2.3. If I underline something and then try to unclick the underline button or clt-u. I confirm that bug. Also, it applies to all of the style buttons: Bold, Italics, and Underline. You can work around it by typing the text normally then highlighting and clicking a button, but that is annoying workaround if you are in a hurry. I am experiencing a similar problem using Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon using OpenOffice 2.3.): I know this thread is closed, but i'm not shure if i have the same problem: 1. This bug is fixed on the upstream project. It has to be reviewed and synched to Ubuntu but it is not yet clear if it goes to Gutsy or Gutsy+1. Please note: Not only CTRL-XYZ behaves like this. Also the usage of icons does the same. For now there is no need for further commenting this bug as all neccessary information are collected. Let's just wait for the maintainer now to decide what to do. The following can be used as a workaround for this problem. Note that this problem affects ALL of the font-style buttons: BOLD, ITALICS, UNDERLINE In the following workaround the pressing of [CTRL+B/I/U] is indicated by the brackets: [CTRL+B] bold is on [CTRL+B] bold is off [CTRL+B] bold fails to turn on. Highlight the offending word or phase and press [CTRL+B] again. This will cause the effect to work and 'resets' the problem, which will repeat the next time bold is turned off. This workaround is inconvenient but it does work. It will function for all of the font buttons. By the way, I received an update saying the bug was fixed. I am experiencing a similar problem using Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon using OpenOffice 2.3. I will try to provide an exact problem replication, as follows: 1. Open a NEW Word Processor document 2. Note that rior to typing anything, CTRL-B/I/U properly toggle their respective styles properly 3. Begin with a CTRL-B to turn ON Bold font style and type This should be bold; 4. Toggle Bold using CTRL-B (to turn it OFF) and continue, repeating This should be normal. 5. Toggle Bold again with CTRL-B (to turn it ON again) and continue typing -- the bold feature fails to function. Please note that two other programs have displayed problems after upgrading to Gutsy (7.10), making it difficult to ascertain the exact problem.
