I check out this problem very later, and I found that Korean and Japanese string were mixed. The reason why I mentioned the norwegian bug, is that the bug report https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/155052 where I initially started writing about this, was marked as a duplicate of this bug. So I then assume that norwegian *is* relevant and a part of this bug too :-) I am now closing this bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150729 I suppose that the Kubuntu team will make new packages without this bug, any idea when this could happen? It's coming from language packs so until you get a new base package update it will remain there. Anyway, the fix we are going to apply to Launchpad will produce that it will be updated with an empty version (or with any translation that gets in the mean time) so it should be fixed there automatically too. I will try to have it done for next language pack update which should happen any time next week (or the other, depending on the testing we need to do before deploying it). All files from the old package will be removed and the files from the new package will be installed on upgrades. There should be no remaining files outside /etc. (or other files marked as conffiles, should not be the case for .mo files.) You can search for packages containing guidance.mo files with 'dpkg -S guidance.mo'. This file (guidance.po) is not even present in the norwegian svn, that is not translated at all. http://l10n.kde.org/stats/gui/stable/nb/extragear-utils/index.php So this has to be faulty packaging at some stage. That's just because seems like KDE translators fixed the issue, that's why I set the task for the kde-guidance package as Fix released and Confirmed in Launchpad Translations because we need to remove those broken translations from the system. It made no sense to remove them in Launchpad until it's fixed in KDE's SVN because with each new release uploaded in Launchpad we would get them back. Hmm, reading the report again I think the misunderstanding came from me not explaining why is Fix released, I was told about it directly and when I changed the bug status I forgot to explain that here... as far as I know, norwegian language was never involved in this guidance issue. I just found 4 wrong translations in launchpad, and that error came directly from kde. I mean, they were automatically imported from kde svn. just now I checked in kde, and (jonathan said) catalan (ca) is also wrong. I don't know what language is there, but it's not catalan. launchpad automatically imports translation from kde, so, kde has to correct these things first. Then, it makes sense to remove that wrong translations from launchpad. I haven't rechecked other languages, but basque (eu) translation is wrong just now. I warned tha translation leader, so it's all done from my side.
