I just tried booting the ubuntu-8.10-rc-desktop-amd64.iso with kvm host kernel = 2.6.24-19-openvz X fails with no options on the command like as well as with -std-vga -no-kvm yields : Ubuntu does not support running KVM without hardware acceleration. Confirmed: kvm-72 (userspace and kernel modules) fixes it. Sorry Soren, The issue regarding the mouse pointer was something else, I reconfigured xorg and it worked fine. Just to clear up my previous comment saying that it did not work. This only happens with amd64 guests. It does not happen with amd64 guests started with -no-kvm.
