[Bug 58624] Amarok doesn't play mp3 with correct packages installed

2006-09-02 Thread kvdveer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amarok

When i try to play an MP3 with Amarok, it refuses to play it, and offers
me to install mp3-support, eventhough i have mp3-support installed
already. No matter what i click, install-mp3 is started. install-mp3
correctly detects I have the required packages installed, and does
nothing.

Amarok correctly reads the id3-tags (both v1 and v2) on my collection.
It correctly displays the duration of my files. On the default streams,
it doesn't complain about the mp3-format, but it doesn't produce audio-
output either.

System information:
I'm running Ubuntu egdy x86 on an amd x64, updated 5 minutes ago. Apart from
the dependencies for kate and amarok, I have no KDE packages installed. My
package-versions are:

ii amarok 1.4.2-0ubuntu3
versatile and easy to use audio player for K
ii amarok-xine1.4.2-0ubuntu3
xine engine for the amaroK audio player
ii amarok-xine1.4.2-0ubuntu3
xine engine for the amaroK audio player
ii libxine-extracodecs1.1.1+ubuntu1-2
the xine video/media player library, binary
ii libxine-main1 1.1.2-2ubuntu4
the xine video/media player library, binary
ii libxine1 1.1.2-2ubuntu4
the xine video/media player library, binary
ii libxinerama1 1.0.1-4build1

ii libmad00.15.1b-2.1

ii libmad0-dev0.15.1b-2.1

Restarting Amarok didn't work? I noticed this as well from a bug i just posted
recently. And restarting Amarok, so it can load the libxine-extracodecs
should have fixed it. Right click the icon in the taskbar, and select quit.
